All Soul Song repertoire will be predominantly secular pop, soul and gospel and is chosen by Soul Song Management team, with potential input from MDs. The repertoire and rehearsal plans are 'synced' across all choirs, with everyone teaching the same repertoire each week.Soul Song Choirs are adult (or 16+) choirsSoul Song Choirs are non religious but with strong values that should be upheld and manifested by all leadersSoul Song Choirs are inclusive by nature and are safe spaces for all genders, sexual orientation, cultures, religion, ethnic backgrounds, physical and mental ability. This inclusivity should be upheld and manifested by all leaders but without promotion of any specific faithAs the leader, I set the tone of the room and it is important that I invest in getting to know with my singers and ensuring that everyone finds a place in the choir if they want oneBeing a Musical Director means that I prioritise attendance at weekly rehearsals. Rehearsals should only be cancelled in extreme circumstances due to major illness or urgent and unforeseen personal circumstances.
