Thank you for your interest in applying for an SPJST Scholarship. Applicants must meet the following criteria in order to be considered:
• Applicants must be of upstanding moral character and have an active SPJST insurance certificate in force for at least one year as of February 1, 2026. If the membership is in the form of an annuity, the amount must be at least $10,000.
• Applicants must be enrolling as a full-time student — at least 12 credit hours per semester.
• Applicants must attend an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or technical school. Trade schools will be considered on a case-by-case basis. In every case, scholarship monies shall be made payable to the institution and not directly to the student.
• Military Service: In the event that the SPJST Scholarship recipient opts to enter military service in lieu of college pursuit, the SPJST Scholarship shall be forfeited and funds reassigned to an “SPJST Freedom Fund” to be earmarked in the name of the student and available for reassignment or withdrawal on the basis of need or upon honorable discharge.
• Applicants must hold an active SPJST insurance certificate and/or annuity for the duration of the scholarship.
• Applicant must not have previously received an SPJST Scholarship (excluding State/District Merit Scholarship and State Royalty Scholarship).
Application Deadline: February 1, 2026. Applicants apply online using this form. A receipt of application will be sent upon successful submission.
