Atlanta Women In Sports (AWIS) salutes and honors Atlanta businesswomen who are blazing trails and redefining the position of "sports executives and athletes."
Selected honourees are from the following categories:
- Women of sports who have worked in the areas of business
- Women of sports who have advocated for women, particularly women in the Metro-Atlanta area and the state of Georgia
- Women in sports who have consistently demonstrated their ability to rally diverse forces together to advance the agenda of women in sports
- Women of sports who have created positive changes at the professional level
Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes and promotes individuals who have contributed significantly to the sports industry over a minimum of 25 years. In addition, to women whom I have shown exemplary leadership and have removed barriers for women and girls to have a place in the sports industry. The Lifetime Achievement Award may be given posthumously.
Trailblazer Award honors and recognizes distinguished women as pioneers and game changers in sports and life.
Atlanta Women In Sports Award honors local Atlanta women in the sports industries, small businesses, collegiate professionals, entrepreneurs, club sports, coaches, trainers, etc.
Humanitarian Award celebrates and honors athletes, teams, leagues, and sports industry professionals for using sports to impact social change.
Sports Unlimited Enterprise's "Sports Diplomacy Award" honors and recognizes any individual who uses sport as a diplomatic tool, emphasizing the positive values of sport and the impact on building a more cohesive society. It is fueled through education, economy, social justice, promoting health and culture to bring people together. Sports Diplomacy has emerged as an integral part of efforts to build ever-strengthening relations between the United States and other nations.
Sports Unlimited Enterprise's "United State President Volunteer Service Award"
Sports Unlimited Enterprise is the certifying organization for the President's Volunteer Service Award. The President's Volunteer Service Awards recognizes retired athletes, professional athletes, collegiate athletes, youth athletes, sports professionals, and volunteers for their involvement with volunteerism and community service. In addition, the President's Volunteer Service Award recognizes United States citizens and lawfully admitted permanent residents of the United States who have achieved the required number of hours of service over a 12-month time period or cumulative hours throughout a lifetime.
