HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT Freddie Stancil Annual Turkey Hunting Tournament of North Carolina THIS HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT is made and entered into as of the date of signature by the undersigned participant, in consideration of being permitted to participate in the Freddie Stancil Annual Turkey Hunting Tournament held in North Carolina.
Hunter agrees to hold harmless and absolved Freddie Stancil Annual Turkey Hunting Tournament and its guests, representatives, landlords, and suppliers, and of any and all liability of any kids for any incidents, accidents or damages incurred by Hunter or Hunter’s personal property during the course of the event. Hunter covenants and agrees not to hold any forementioned parties liable for any and all injuries, illness or casualty of any kind incurred while engaged in the event.
1. ASSUMPTION OF RISK Participant acknowledges that turkey hunting is an inherently dangerous activity that involves risks including, but not limited to, firearm use, interaction with wildlife, adverse weather conditions, rough terrain, and potential injury or death. Participants voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation in the Tournament.
2. COMPLIANCE WITH LAWS & REGULATIONS Participant agrees to fully comply with all North Carolina hunting laws, regulations, and licensing requirements, including but not limited to: • Possession of a valid North Carolina hunting license and turkey hunting permit. • Compliance with all firearm safety rules and regulations. • Adherence to legal hunting seasons, bag limits, and ethical hunting practices. • Respecting private and public property boundaries. • Wearing appropriate hunter orange when required. Failure to comply with these laws and regulations may result in immediate disqualification from the Tournament and potential legal consequences.
3. RELEASE & INDEMNIFICATION Participant, on behalf of themselves, hereby agrees to release, indemnify, and hold harmless the Tournament organizers, landowners, sponsors, volunteers, and any affiliated parties from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising from or related to any injury, disability, death, property damage, or financial loss incurred during or as a result of participation in the Tournament, including but not limited to: • Negligence (except for gross negligence or intentional misconduct) • Accidents involving firearms, ATVs, vehicles, or other equipment • Encounters with wildlife or dangerous environmental conditions • Actions of other participants or third parties
4. MEDICAL CONSENT & INSURANCE Participant affirms they are in good health and physically capable of participating in the Tournament. Participants understand that no medical services will be provided by the Tournament organizers and agree to be responsible for any medical expenses incurred as a result of participation. Participants also acknowledged that they are solely responsible for carrying any personal accident, health, or liability insurance.
5. MEDIA RELEASE Participant grants permission to Tournament organizers to use photographs, video, or other media taken during the Tournament for promotional, educational, or other lawful purposes, without compensation or prior approval.
6. GOVERNING LAW This Agreement shall be governed by and construed under the laws of the State of North Carolina. Any legal disputes arising under this Agreement shall be resolved in the appropriate courts of North Carolina. Hunters agree to abide by all applicable Federal and State laws throughout the duration of the tournament. Any violation of the Federal, State, and/or Local laws by the hunter may be a result of the hunter's own actions and agrees to bear responsibility for such and will not hold Freddie Stancil Turkey Tournament or its agents and representatives liable for any actions undertaken during the tournament.
