Georgia Strategic Alliance for New Directions and Unified Policies (Georgia STAND-UP) is a Think and Act Tank for Working Communities. As a Georgia alliance of leaders, we represent community, faith, academic, and labor organizations that organize and educate communities about issues related to economic development. With the goal of alleviating poverty and encouraging regional equity through the empowerment of leaders and the inclusion of community benefits, STAND-UP empowers residents to ensure economic development meets the needs of their neighborhoods and uses community benefits agreements and policies to assist communities, developers, and redevelopment agencies in working together to create successful development projects.
The mission of Georgia STAND-UP is to build partnerships and develop leaders to foster civic engagement and maximize voter participation, building community infrastructure that reduces inequality and increases economic opportunity through workforce development, while also achieving equity in housing and criminal justice by improving access to jobs, healthcare, mobility, and affordable shelter.
We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit, therefore we DO NOT endorse any candidate or political party, nor hold any political affiliation.
