• Step It Up Dance Academy is Hiring!

    We are currently seeking a Hip Hop Instructor, Pom Instructor, or an Instructor qualified to teach both styles for our 2026-2027 dance season.

    Available Classes:

    Hip Hop (Ages 6-8, 9-11, and 12+)
    Pom (Ages 6-8, 9-11, and 12+)


    We are primarily looking to fill classes for our older age groups (9-11 and 12+), but additional classes may be available for the right candidate. 

    Classes are 45 minutes in length and are currently planned for Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. However, we are still building our schedule and are willing to work around the instructor's availability whenever possible.

    Position Responsibilities:

    -Plan and teach weekly classes
    -Create age-appropriate lesson plans and choreography
    -Choreograph and teach a recital routine for each assigned class
    -Select appropriate, family-friendly music for classes and performances
    -Assist with costume selection for recital routines
    -Communicate with studio staff regarding class needs and planning


    Preferred Qualifications

    -Experience in Hip Hop, Pom, Dance Team, Cheer, Drill Team, or related performance styles
    -Teaching experience is preferred 
    -Strong communication and classroom management skills
    -Reliable and committed throughout the dance season
    -Music editing experience is a plus, but not required

    -A passion for dance that you want to share with the next generation of dancers!


    Season Commitment
    Instructors are expected to commit to the full dance season, which runs from September 2026 through May 2027.

    Compensation
    Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications. Additional compensation opportunities may be available for private lessons, camps, workshops, or competitive team work.

    For instructors commuting from outside the Grand Island area, mileage/gas reimbursement may be available.
