    The K10 is widely recommended as a simple measure of psychological distress. It can be used as a measure of outcomes following treatment for common mental health disorders or as a tool alongside a clinical interview to identify the need for treatment.

  • Interpreting K10 Results
    While no universally agreed interpretation categories or groupings exist for K10 scores, a number of different methods are used in Australia, depending on the purpose of administration and the setting in which it is delivered. Below is a generally adopted interpretation table that has been validated by the Clinical Research Unit for Anxiety and Depression (CRUfAD), Andrews and Slade (2001). Scores are grouped into four levels of psychological distress. See table below.
