Those appointed to work for the College will be required to undertake a check for convictions by the Disclosure and Barring Service as required by the DfE and SFA (funding bodies). Please note that a conviction will not necessarily prevent an applicant from being employed by the College. If you fail to disclose any criminal convictions and cautions, including those “spent”, it could result in withdrawal of the job offer, dismissal or disciplinary action by the College.
All Sutton College roles involve some form of access to children and/or vulnerable people. They are therefore exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, which means you must give us details of any criminal convictions you have had, spent or unspent.
The relevant funding guide and Ofsted policies can be provided on request.
