Producing a show choir show is a major undertaking that requires significant financial resources. Once the group is fully cast, we will ask each family to indicate the financial contribution they are able to make toward this year’s Protege season.
No student will be excluded from participation due to financial limitations.
We do need accurate information in order to build a responsible and realistic budget. When the time comes, we ask only for an honest estimate of what your family can contribute. We will use that information—along with fundraising, concert ticket sales, and community donations—to plan the year.
For reference, the average cost per singer in recent seasons has been approximately $400. We expect that number to rise this year due to increased expenses. This amount covers essentials such as:
- Costumes and props
- Music arrangements
- Professional choreography and show design
- Competition registration and transportation
- Equipment purchase and repair
In addition, students will have the option to purchase group apparel (e.g., T-shirts, jackets). Families should also budget for meals on competition days.
