RSVP to Tire Machèt Workshop with Master Instructor Michael Dylan Rogers
October 17-18th, 11am-3pm at Le Mondo, ALL experience levels welcome!
Join us for a 2-day workshop to learn about the art of Haitian Machete Fencing in the Avril Family Style, a practice that descends directly from the Haitian Revolution.
Please bring a water bottle and comfortable exercise clothes, light food provided. The class is sliding scale: $10-30 a day for Black folks, $15-45 a day for non-Black folks. All funds go directly to supporting the Avril family in Haiti.
Additionally, join us for our Haitian political education sessions after the training! Both sessions will be from 3-5pm at Le Mondo.
Saturday will include a screening of the Queer Vodou documentary Of Men and Gods + discussion. Sunday will include a facilitated session on revolutionary leader Jean-Jacques Dessalines and The Black Jacobins.
