This will be our first in-person Come Lay It Down gathering.
A small room. Ten people. Three hours to be with what has been heavy.
You spend so much of your life tending to other people. Listening. Helping. Leading. Holding stories, families, clients, communities, organizations, and people you love. This gathering is a place to bring some of what you have been carrying.
Maybe your grief is connected to someone you lost. A relationship that ended. An estrangement. A friendship that changed. A family you had to leave, or one that left you. Maybe it is grief about your health, burnout, caregiving, or the loss of a previous version of yourself. Maybe you are carrying the heartbreak of this field. The ache of aloneness. The exhaustion of being needed.
And maybe some of what you are grieving is much larger than your own life—the continued violence against Black bodies across America, the deaths we keep witnessing, I.C.E., detention and deportation, families being separated, and the daily weight of racism, oppression, and living inside systems that harm people we love and communities we belong to.
Some grief has a name. Some does not.
Some arrives as sadness. Some as anger, laughter, numbness, exhaustion,
