The team dues structure is changing this year. For your student to participate on the team, a non-refundable one-time fee of $750 will be collected by December 1st, 2024. This fee will cover 2 team shirts and all costs of food, hotels, transportation, and registration fees for THOR and Doyenne offseason competitions, 2 district competitions, and the State Championship. If the team qualifies and attends the World Championship, any student who wishes to attend would need to pay an additional $750 to be collected the week before the Championship in April. We would like every student to go! Any other event, conference, or competition will be optional and may have additional costs and would be collected separately if your student decides to attend. These costs will not be covered by the need-based scholarships due to team funds availability. If you would need any or all of the team fees or responsibilities covered by a needs-based scholarship, please indicate below. A need for scholarship will not be a factor when making team selection decisions for rookies and will only be visible to the head mentors and treasurer for accounting purposes. We believe cost should not be a barrier to STEM learning!

Please upload any medical documentation for medication that we could use in case of emergencies. This can be critical if a student is unable to provide the information in an emergency and we need to provide details to a medical professional.

Your child will be participating in the RTHS Raptors Robotics Program (“Robotics Program”). As part of that program, activities will be held outside of school hours, for example, on weekends, after school or on days when school is not in session. These “Robotic Events” will occur off campus or will take students away from campus. For these Robotic Events, the School will not be providing transportation to and/or from the activity. For your child to participate in such Robotic Events, RTHS requires that you complete the following form:

I have read and reviewed the general requirements for high school Robotics participation and I have discussed these requirements with my student-engineer. I understand that additional questions or specific circumstances should be directed to my student’s principal, staff liaison, or team coach. I also acknowledge that there is a certain risk of injury involved with robotics participation; even with the best coaching, use of the protective equipment and gear, and strict observance of the rules, injuries are still a possibility and on rare occasions these can be so severe as to result in total disability, paralysis, or even death. It is impossible to eliminate this risk.   If allowed to participate in an activity at RTHS or in connection with TerrorBytes Robotics, the undersigned agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless TerrorBytes Robotics, its directors, mentors, agents, and sponsors from and against any claims, actions or demands, including, without limitation, reasonable legal and accounting fees arising out of, or resulting from such participation. In accordance with the rules of FIRST Robotics, I hereby give my consent for the participation of my student named below for participation in the Research Triangle High School Robotics team (FRC 4561: TerrorBytes Robotics) or their activities, including but not limited to rookie tryouts, team practices and build days, outreach activities, and FRC competitions.
