2026 Dune Shack Writer's Residency

There are two Writer’s Residency weeks in the Fowler Dune Shack. One week is May 31- June 7; the other is October 25 - November 1. Both residencies are Underwritten by The Compact. Writers will be selected by lottery. Our unique lottery process allows equal opportunity for writers of all levels. Please note that all fields are required when applying for a Writer's Residency.

The Compact is pleased to announce the creation of the Dune Shack Honor Tax, a voluntary donation to the Native Land Conservancy. In creating the Honor Tax, The Compact wishes to recognize that the Dune Shacks reside on the ancestral homelands of the Wampanoag Nation, People of the First Light, in Provincetown and to support the efforts of the indigenous people of the Cape to care for and maintain the land.
