The Certified Peer Specialist Career Outcome Study is a three-year, national study of employment outcomes of individuals who have obtained a CPS credential -- whether or not they work in peer support. This study aims to understand how certification contributes to new graduates’ employment outcomes and opportunities for career advancement. The CPS Career Outcomes Study includes peer specialists from four states. Most are working either in peer support or another job, but some are not. Many recent CPS grads are critical of certification or have had negative work experiences, and many feel that peer support changed their lives. In this webinar, the first-year baseline data will be presented and showcase the diverse experiences of certification and work.
