BIO: Sassy Poet is a dynamic spoken word artist with a strong track record of performances for industry icons Russell Simmons and Rev Run Simmons. She has also showcased her work at the Sweet Auburn Heritage Festival in Atlanta. She has also performed numerous times in Texas, Georgia, California, and Florida, featuring at Black on Black Rhyme in Tampa, Florida.
As the co-founder and host of Poetry and Conversations, Sassy Poet curates impactful open mic events that foster community and amplify voices. Her performances blend art and conversation, creating spaces for connection, inspiration, and dialogue.
PERFORMANCE OPTIONS:
LOCAL PERFORMANCE (original previously written work): For a featured performance of original work within 50 miles of Montgomery, AL (no air travel needed), please complete the form. You will receive a follow-up email along with a deposit invoice to secure the date. Performance dates and poem requests will be confirmed.
TRAVEL PERFORMANCE (original previously written work): For a featured performance of original work outside of 50 miles from Montgomery, AL (requiring air travel, lodging, and/or ground transportation), please complete the form. You will receive a follow-up email to discuss travel dates and logistics. A deposit equal to the estimated travel costs or a secure travel arrangement will be required within 7 days of form submission to hold the date on the calendar. Dates and poem requests will be confirmed.
CUSTOMIZED POEMS (a new poem crafted for your specific request): Please allow at least 45 days for a customized poem to be written and delivered in PDF format. If you would like the poem performed, please indicate that in the required section.
HOSTING (LOCAL/TRAVEL) (emcee for your requested event): Please complete the form to receive a follow-up regarding your event details. A deposit will secure your date. (Performances outside of the local area will include travel costs.)
POETRY AND CONVERSATIONS (bring P&C to your hometown): If you would like Poetry and Conversations to come to your hometown, please complete the form. This will include a featured open mic event, complete with poetry, conversation, and community engagement. You will receive a follow-up email to discuss event details, logistics, and travel requirements. For events outside Montgomery, a deposit is required to secure the date to cover travel costs (airfare, lodging, and/or ground transportation). Travel arrangements must be confirmed within 7 days of submitting the form to hold the event date. Dates and performance details will be confirmed once arrangements are secured.
