  • Harvest Box Pick-Up

    3 locations to choose from
  • Our harvest box program is based on the principle that individuals from the community subscribe to our farm by providing financial support in the beginning of the season.

This is the most costly part of the season for farmers because of the seasonal investment for seeds and supplies. In exchange, each member receives a weekly box of produce throughout the season. This mutually beneficial partnership ensures a more secure market for small farms and provides members convenient access to healthier, safer, and tastier food.

  • *$300 10 bi-weekly bouquets by Ganden Gardens

  • Payment

  • In order to reserve your membership, we require a $300 deposit that is non-refundable and is applied toward the total cost of the harvest box membership. We encourage those members who can, to pay in full upon signing. This helps your farmers absorb the initial expenses that happen at the beginning of the season.
Payments made later than March 1 will be charged an additional 25$ late fee. Full payment will be required within 7 days or your spot will be forfeited.

  • Please note:

We will confirm with you and arrange your preferred payment method once we review your submission.

  • Terms & Conditions

    • I acknowledge that farming is subject to risks beyond the control of The Rutabaga Ranch which may adversely affect the quality or quantity of the season’s harvest.
    • I acknowledge that these risks are shared equally by all Harvest Box members and that my subscription is non-refundable.
    • I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to pick up my weekly share at the specified time and place. I may designate someone in my place.
    • I acknowledge a $300 deposit is required to secure my membership upon signing.
    • I acknowledge upon signing with the Rutabaga Ranch, I am required to eat at least one rutabaga per year and like it.
    • I acknowledge I am contractually obliged when asked what my favourite vegetable is, to respond rutabaga’s for the duration of this contract.
  • PICK-UP DAY & SCHEDULE

I understand that if I cannot make my scheduled Harvest Box pick up, I can request a pick- up- day change, and receive a double box the following week. Although it is preferred to make arrangements to have the boxes picked up on schedule. I also understand that if I miss or forget my box without notice, it will be donated.

    SEASONAL PRICE CHANGE

Boxes will vary in price as the seasons change. In the spring, boxes may be less than 30$/week but then increase to 30$. As the abundance of the season progresses, boxes will increase to more than 30$/week to balance out the deficit in the spring. Our season start date will depend on the weather this spring. You will be notified 1-2 weeks before your initial pickup to let you know the season has started.

  • RISKS OF AGRICULTURE

I understand that one aspect of being a Harvest box Member is to support my Farmer. To do so, the Members share in the inherent risks of agriculture (poor weather, drought, disease, early frost, crop failure and so on) and rewards (the bounty from a good season). Your Farmer purposefully plans for such contingencies and uses growing techniques to protect the harvest, minimize risk to members and optimize the rewards. Becoming a Member, you assume the risk should your Farmer be unable to provide a portion of the Member’s subscription due to any inherent risk of farming. Your Farmer’s #1 priority is ensuring that you, the member, is fulfilled and we will work with you collaboratively in these events.

    LATE FEES & DEADLINE

I understand that a late payment will result in a fee of $25. The fee and the remaining balance owed will be due within 7 days of the payment deadline, or I forfeit my subscription.
