    Client Overview: Hornbeck Offshore Services is a leading supplier of offshore transport services, including supply vessels, tankers and barges, primarily to support offshore and particularly deepwater petroleum exploration worldwide. We are currently seeking an experienced and talented 3D Artist to join our team in Covington, Louisiana.

    Position Overview: You will be responsible for converting ship and offshore CAD models into game-ready Unity assets for use in our internal training, simulation, and sales applications. You will work closely with our ship builders, engineering teams, and game developers to ensure accurate and optimized models. This is a full-time role that requires you to work on-site at our Covington, Louisiana office 5 days a week.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Convert CAD models of ships and offshore assets into game-ready Unity assets
    2. Collaborate with ship builders, engineering teams, and game developers to ensure accuracy, attention to detail, and alignment with project requirements
    3. Optimize models for use in Unity game engine and ensure they meet performance and quality standards
    4. Maintain a clean and organized model library
    5. Stay updated on the latest 3D art techniques, tools, and best practices
    6. Contribute to the development of art pipelines, processes, and workflows to improve efficiency and quality
    7. Participate in team meetings, reviews, and critiques to maintain a high level of quality and consistency


    Qualifications:

    1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in 3D modeling and texturing, with a focus on real-time game engines
    2. Strong proficiency in 3D modeling software, such as Maya, 3DS Max, or Blender
    3. Expert-level understanding of Unity game engine, including optimization techniques
    4. Strong communication and collaboration skills
    5. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
    6. Self-motivated and able to work independently
    7. Experience with version control systems, such as Git
    8. Portfolio showcasing your 3D modeling and texturing skills

    Preferred Qualifications

    1. Experience with shader programming and materials in Unity
    2. Familiarity with rigging and animation for real-time applications
    3. Knowledge of CAD software and file formats (e.g. AutoCAD, CATIA, NX)
    4. Familiarity with engineering complex systems and the marine/offshore industry


    Estimated Pay: $80,000 - $105,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
