  • IMPORTANT INFORMATION AND DATES
     
    OPEN HOUSE - No Fee to Participate
    Mirror Images will hold an Open House for youth skaters of all levels interested in learning about synchronized skating on Saturday, 4/25, from 10:45-11:45 AM on the East Rink. We encourage all current MI skaters to attend the Open House to demonstrate synchronized elements and assist the new skaters. All MI skaters should bring any friends interested in synchronized skating to the Open House.
     
    PREPARATION SESSIONS
     Mirror Images preparation sessions help skaters learn steps, moves, and team expectations before the team tryout. Skaters should be aware of the requirements set forth by USFSA and Mirror Images for the team they intend to try out for. All USFSA and Mirror Images requirements are detailed in the Mirror Images Team Level and Expectations document (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1puu7In4cfV8TFIycF9I_nZQO0adJKvGk/view?usp=sharing).
    All prep sessions are included in the team tryout fee. All skaters should attend the tryout preparation sessions associated with the most recent skating skills test passed.
     
    No Test through Preliminary Skating Skills
    Thursday, 4/23 on East Rink from 5:30-6:30 PM
    Sunday, 4/26 on 3rd Rink from 3:40-4:40 PM
     
    PreBronze through Gold Skating Skills
    Thursday, 4/23 on East Rink from 6:00-7:00 PM
    Sunday, 4/26 on 3rd Rink from 4:10-5:10 PM
     
    TRYOUTS
    Mirror Images tryouts will be held on Sunday, May 3rd at the Rochester Ice Center (80 Lyndon Rd., Fairport, NY 14450). 
    All skaters must attend at least one team tryout session
    Makeup option only available upon request prior to the tryout date.
     
    No Test through Preliminary: 2:10-3:10 PM on East Rink
    PreBronze through Gold: 3:10-4:10 PM on East Rink
     
    Skater Expectations for Team Tryouts
    Skaters should come to tryouts wearing all black and arrive 15-30 minutes early to stretch and prepare. Hair is expected to be pulled back and off the face. Skaters will be given a number and assigned a skate order for all drills, artistry, and musical interpretation segments.
     
    DEADLINES AND FEES
    All skaters MUST register by April 19th, 2026, to be eligible to attend the preparatory sessions and tryouts. A non-refundable registration fee of $80 for returning MI skaters and $55 for new or beginning skaters is due at the time of registration. No skater will be permitted to skate without a completed registration and fee. 
     
    TEAM PLACEMENT
    Once your skater is placed on a team, you will receive a confirmation email and a form to accept the position and pay the team deposit. A $150 Team Deposit is required for all non-Aspire teams and a $100 Team Deposit for all Aspire teams. NO SKATER WILL BE PLACED ON A TEAM until the registration fee is received and any outstanding prior year obligations are paid in full.

  • PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT, RELEASE OF LIABILITY, WAIVER OF CLAIMS AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK.

    As part of my membership, or as a parent on behalf of a minor child, I recognize that programs involving physical activity have inherent risks of injury and/or damage, and I assume any and all such risks, as well as the responsibility to be fully aware of the inherent risks associated with my registration, before beginning participation. Neither the Thomas Creek Figure Skating Club, nor its officers, directors, agents, nor representatives of the Club will be liable for injury or damage that occurs as a result of such risks. Accordingly, I waive and release the above-named parties from any such liability.


    Additionally, when I register for any programs of the Club, including but not limited to Club ice sessions, shows and exhibitions, the Mirror Images Synchronized Skating Program, and off-ice programming, I agree that I am responsible for any damage I may cause to any facility utilized by the Club for its program offerings.


    I agree that any photographs or videos taken during TCFSC/MI-sponsored activities may be used at the discretion of the club for future marketing purposes. 

  • Waiver and Release of Liability, Assumption of Risk and Indemnity Agreement (“Agreement”)

    In consideration of participating in Thomas Creek Figure Skating Club activities, I represent that I understand the nature of figure skating activities (“activity”) and that I am qualified, in good health, and in proper physical condition to participate in such “activity”. I acknowledge that if I believe event conditions are unsafe, I will immediately discontinue participation in the “activity”.

    I fully understand that this “activity” involves risks of serious bodily injury, including permanent disability, paralysis and death, which may be caused by my own actions, or inactions, those of others participating in the “activity”, the conditions in which the “activity” takes place, or the negligence of the “releasees” named below; and that there may be other risks either not known to me or not readily foreseeable at this time; and I fully accept and assume all such risks and all responsibility for losses, costs, and damages I incur as a result of myparticipation in the “activity”. 

    I hereby release, discharge, and covenant not to sue the Thomas Creek Figure Skating Club, United States Figure Skating, it’s directors, officers, administrators, sponsors, volunteers, agents, employees, staff, instructors, trainers, other participants and if applicable owners and lessors of premises on which the “activity” takes place (each considered one of the “Releasees” herein) from all liability, claims, demands, losses, or damages on my account caused or alleged to be caused in whole or in part by the negligence of the “releasees” or otherwise, including negligent rescue operations; and I further agree that if, despite this release, waiver of liability, and assumption of risk, I, or anyone on my behalf, makes a claim against any of the Releasees, I will indemnify, save, and hold harmless each of the releasees from any loss, liability, damage, or cost which any may incur as the result of such claim.

    The Thomas Creek Figure Skating Club has the right, but not the obligation, to provide rules, regulations, and/or ice monitors for Club Ice. We hereby acknowledge that the Thomas Creek Figure Skating Club shall not be responsible for the supervision of the members at Club Ice.

    I have read this RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK, AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT, understand that I have given up substantial rights by agreeing and have agreed to it freely and without any inducement or assurance of any nature and intend it to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law and agree that if any portion of this agreement is held to be invalid, the balance, notwithstanding, shall continue in full force and effect.
