• TNFC Junior Mindset, Confidence and Wellbeing Program - Parent Interest Form

Express your interest and help us understand your child’s needs for our mindset, confidence, and wellbeing program.
  • Program Starting Soon
Tarneit North Football Club is preparing to introduce a new Junior Mindset, Confidence and Wellbeing Program for children at the club.

At this stage, we are checking how many parents are interested and identifying the areas in which children may need support. Completing this form does not automatically register your child or guarantee a place in the program.

Once we receive the expressions of interest, the club will confirm:

    The eligible age groups.
    Program dates and times.
    Group sizes.
    Session frequency.
    Parent information sessions.
    The program commencement date.
The club plans to begin with a small pilot group and review the program before expanding it.

    What Is the Program?
The program will use short, age-appropriate activities connected to football, teamwork and everyday situations.

It is intended to help children develop:

    Confidence and positive self-belief.
    Focus and concentration.
    Emotional awareness.
    Calm responses to frustration.
    Positive communication.
    Teamwork and respect.
    Better responses to mistakes.
Resilience after losing or facing setbacks.
    Decision-making skills.
    Motivation and positive goal setting.
A healthy attitude toward football, training and competition.
The sessions may include group discussions, football-related activities, breathing and calming exercises, positive self-talk, visualisation, goal-setting and teamwork exercises.

This is a general development and wellbeing program. It is not medical treatment, psychological therapy, counselling or a diagnostic assessment.

    How Can the Program Help?
Children can experience different challenges in sport. Some may lose confidence after a mistake. Others may become frustrated, nervous, distracted or upset when they do not receive the ball, lose a match or receive feedback.

The program aims to give children practical tools to:

    Calm themselves when upset.
Try again after making a mistake.
    Communicate their feelings respectfully.
Listen and respond positively to coaching.
    Support teammates.
    Manage winning and losing.
Remain focused during training and matches.
Build stronger relationships with parents, coaches and teammates.
Parents are an important part of a child’s development. Parents may be invited to attend the first one or two sessions so the club and families can work toward the same goals.
