Churches and religious nonprofits are not immune to the occurrence of sexual and other forms of harassment. Ministries need to develop and adopt appropriate policies on all forms of harassment, protocols for what happens when a claim is reported, and appropriate training programs and policies.
This training will teach best practices for engaging in employee investigations, handling complaints and establishing a good “open door” policy within your workplace/church/organization. Plus, we’ll offer a proactive approach to creating a safe workplace that doesn’t allow for harassment, and fosters an environment where employees feel safe and supported to report matters to Human Resources.
Many churches and nonprofits fail to see themselves as employers in the traditional sense, and therefore do not consider the risks and potential negative outcomes associated with employment-related matters, and costly lawsuits. Identifying and implementing key employment law best practices can help reduce the likelihood of lawsuits, while giving employees dignity throughout the process.
