Information about the Program
The Tuskegee University Mentorship Pilot Program supports aspiring and beginning farmers & agri-entrepreneurs through hands-on training and learning opportunities. With guidance from experienced mentors, mentees will learn to set production and business goals, sharpen their skills, clarify their business goals, and gain a deeper understanding of the business of agriculture. Aspiring or Prospective farmer, rancher, or business owner: Individuals interested in starting a farm, ranch, or business. This includes next-generation farm or business family members as well as those who do not come from a farming or business background.
Start-up farmer, rancher, or agri-business owner: Individuals who are in the early stages of their agricultural operation or business, often within one to three years.
Re-strategizing farmer, rancher, or agri-business owner: Individuals who are making changes to their operation after farming for approximately 4 to 7 years.
Established farmer, rancher, or agri-business owner: Individuals who are expanding, diversifying, and stabilizing within 8 to 10 years of experience
