2023 Talihina Christmas Parade Entry Form

Each entry is to represent the Parade Theme, "A Good Ole Country Christmas", in a creative way. This is your opportunity to have fun and create something unique and special! To ensure excellence in presentation and efficiency in coordination, placement within the parade lineup is at the discretion of the Christmas Parade Committee. Line up begins at 4:30pm at the old ALCO Building parking lot. We will have 3 category winners this year:Mayor's Choice, Business Choice and Community Choice. Judging will begin at 5:30p, with winners announced at the conclusion of the Parade! Be creative Have a wonderful time!!!

Neither the Talihina Chamber of Commerce / Visitors Center non the City of Talihina assumes any responsibility or liability for any loss or damage to property of entry or injury or death to any persons by action or inaction of the Talihina Chamber of Commerce / Visitors Center or the City of Talihina, and the entry owner agrees to indemnify and hold harmless damages, expenses, or losses arising there from.

MUST BE SIGNED BEFORE LEAVING ON PARADE ROUTE

The 2023 Annual Talihina Chamber of Commerce "A Good Ole Country Christmas" parade is scheduled for Monday, December 18, 2023. We encourage your family/church/business/organization to decorate a float/trailer/truck/car in a way that represents out theme. Remember, lights and music make a float more exciting and easier to see, so feel free to let your Christmas Spirit Shine! Let's make this year's parade a memorable one. Our route will begin in the old ALCO parking area, continue up Dallas St to 1st Street, turn right to Emmert St, turn right to 2nd Street, turn left and proceed to the new gymnasium, where the parade route ends. Floats should travel slowly keeping two car lengths between entries; do not stop during the parade unless directed to do so. THIS IS IMPERATIVE TO GETTING THE PARADE COMPLETED IN TIME!!

Please DO NOT drive with your headlights on! They are blinding to the entries in front of you, and it lessens the effect of everyone's lighted entries. Also-keep your music speakers aimed into your own float/vehicle. As children of all ages know, there is ONLY ONE SANTA, and he will be at the end of the parade. We will require one (1) waiver signed by the Responsible Person to represent each person associated with your entry entry to be submitted to Chamber staff prior to start of the parade. Pay attention to people directing the beginning of the parade and any others along the parade route. Follow their direction to slow down or move along faster. Please ensure every person participating with your entry is aware of these guidelines. Line Up Time: 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. Check-in and line-up will be designated in the staging area

As a safety precaution, each entrant will be asked to have 2 "walkers" on either side of the float - one towards the front, the other towards the back. These walkers will help create a "safety barrier" alongside the float for our children. The walkers may toss candy to the children on the roadside (not throw candy!), but under no circumstances will children be allowed to come up alongside the float to get candy. Please make sure your entry has enough candy for the entire route. To ensure everyone's safety, especially our children, we can't emphasize the importance of this enough! Preventing our children from running into the street, and possibly into the path of a moving vehicle (float), is our #1 priority!
