Full Cost Transparency

The budget must represent the total economic value of the project. This includes logistics, storage, fuel, packaging, personnel (paid or volunteer), monitoring, reporting, and administrative support.

Budgets that reflect only the requested amount from uCare without disclosing the full project cost structure may be returned for revision.

Procurement & Conflict of Interest Disclosure

Applicants must disclose whether any listed vendor, contractor, supplier, employee, or service provider is a related party to the organization, its founders, board members, employees, or management.

A related party includes family members, business partners, affiliated entities, or organizations owned or controlled by project leadership.

All related-party relationships must be clearly declared and explained. Failure to disclose such relationships may result in rejection of the application or termination of funding.

For any single budget line exceeding $100, supporting documentation is required. This may include a supplier quotation, a signed contract, an invoice draft, or a public market reference. Sole-source procurement above this threshold must include written justification.

How to Complete the Budget Spreadsheet

• Use the official uCare template. Do not upload alternative formats.
• Complete every column. All fields are mandatory.
• Provide a unit-level breakdown for all goods and services.
• Use formulas for totals and verify all calculations.
• Ensure your budget aligns with the implementation timeline and team structure described in your application.

At uCare, we are committed to transparency and clarity in how we support projects through our four initiatives: Essentials, Resilience, InfoForce, and Empowerment.

In some cases, we fund grants through targeted crowdfunding campaigns that require active participation from grantees. While not all applicants will need to engage in crowdfunding, all applicants must review and accept these terms as part of the application process. This ensures that, if crowdfunding becomes necessary, uCare and your organization are aligned on expectations, responsibilities, and process from the start.
