If course loads indicated in faculty contracts are not being met, a course reduction request is required.
Spring requests are due by July 1st
Fall requests are due by November 15th
“Course Reduction Request” is required, if:
- Adjusting course load over the academic year (i.e. Standard course load is fall 2 courses and spring 2 courses - adjusting to fall 1 course and spring 3 courses)
- Grant course buyout
- Serving in an administrative role if contract does not specify term of reduction
- Special assignment/project approved by your supervisor that is not documented in your contract
- New faculty contract course release
“Course Reduction Request” is not required, if:
- Sabbatical request has been submitted/approved
- Modified duties request has been submitted/approved
- FMLA request has been submitted/approved
