Celebrating Monterey's 250th!
Monterey 250 is a yearlong celebration in coordination with the 250th anniversary of the founding of Monterey on June 3, 1770. Throughout 2020 the city will celebrate Monterey’s unique history through ongoing cultural activities, events, and festivities to commemorate this historic occasion.
Parade Date: Saturday, July 4, 2020
Start Time: 10:00a
Location: Monterey, California - Downtown
Parade Route: One mile – Start at Polk Street and Hartnell Street, continues west on Alvarado Street to Del Monte Avenue to Calle Principal, ends at Jefferson Street.
Anticipated Attendance: 15,000
Parade organizers will approve applicants. Notification of acceptance will be emailed.
Parade entries: Required to be entertaining, creative, and exciting. Entry should incorporate a historic appearance anytime through 250 years or a place or time in Monterey’s history(other than bands). Costuming is encouraged. We welcome bands, floats, drill teams, dance teams, equestrians, comical groups, etc. Think out of the box! We will help you with ideas. Spectators want to be entertained and they will remember a unique, fun, entertaining entry.
Please read parade guidelines, as they have been updated. Respond early to be considered for placement in our parade. The number of parade entries, in the parade, will be limited.

This parade application is for consideration to participate in the parade. It is designed to provide our committee and production team with important information about your organization's proposed involvement. If your group is accepted, the information on this form will be used for production and planning purposes. This is not an invitation to participate or does completing it guarantee your entry will be in the parade. If selected, you will be notified in writing no later May 15, 2020.
