4) POD SHELF AND WALLS CLEANING:
SUNSET + HOBART: Use disinfecting cleaner to spray and wipe down the shelf on the side (all pods).
SUNSET + HOBART: the shelf in the back (all pods).
SUNSET + HOBART: Wipe down all the walls of the pod. For hard to get off marks, use the Mr Clean Magic Easer in the Go Bag.
6) SUNSET + HOBART: Are all the mirrors up? If a mirror is missing, add a mirror with the double sided tape. Be sure to gently but firmly push as hard as you can on the mirror when putting them up to make sure they stay up. Give existing mirrors each two firm pushes to keep them up.
7) Wash all mirrors with Windex and a paper towel, even if they seem "pretty clean" already.
8) Check the lights! Hit the switch on the light. If it works, check the box below and move on.
If it doesn't work, double check it's plugged in. If it isn't working still, replace the light. Sunset gets a strip light. To install a strip light, you must use super glue AND utlitize the self-adhesive backing on the back of the light by removing the paper on the back. They aren't sticky enough to work with just one or the other (trust us, we put up 40 of them in a row at Sunset).
Hobart gets an under-cabinet light.
9) Check the fan!
Sunset pods: Is there a fan? If not, clip one of the clip-on fans on. If a Sunset clip on fan is broken, replace with a new one.
Hobart pods: Does the built-in fan work? If not, put in an Upkeep request for the fan to get fixed and include which pod it was.
10) HOBART ONLY: SIDE OF BED STORAGE
Hobart Only: Use dinfecting cleaner to spray and wipe down the shelf along the side of the mattress. Open up the lid of that side storage and throughougly clean out or vaccuum the inside of the compartment.
11) Storage Under/Above the Bed: Open the storage compartments between the upper and lower pod. Remove any items left behind from the old member. If it's trash, throw it away. If it's valuable, give it to that house manager or put in their lost and found. Use the disinfecting spray to thoroughly spray the inside of the compartment and clean out any debris. Clean the inside and the outside of the compartment door.
For hard to get off marks, use the Mr Clean Magic Easer in the Go Bag.
If the compartment door is missing or broken, put in an Upkeep request for it to get fixed in the coming week.

13) Curtains. Check that the pod has a curtain rod that is in good working order in the front of the pod (Hobart). For Sunset, there should be a curtain rod in both the front of the pod and the back of the pod by the clothing.
Ensure all curtain rods have one end piece on each end.
Check that each curtain rod has a curtain on it. If not, the Go Bag has several curtains. However, they would have to be hemmed. You'll need the iron, ironing board, hem tape, scissors, pencil, wet rag from underneath a kitchen or bathroom sink, and curtain of the appropriate color (always match the curtain colors of the adjacent curtains). The proper way to hem the curtain is:
a) Measure the length of a similar curtain in a neighboring pod (if it's an upper pod, be sure you're measuring from an identical upper pod to the side of it. Some of the curtain lengths differ depending on the bedroom and whether it's an upper or lower pod, especially at Sunset).
b) Measure the same length on your brand new curtain with a tape measure, starting at the very top edge of the curtain and going down, but then add 1.5 inches. Draw a line across your new curtains that 1.5 inches (all the way across) longer than the finished curtain from the next door pod. Once you've drawn that line, cut the curtain on that line.
c) Fold the edge of the curtain up a half inch. Iron it in that position so it stays flat for the next step.
d) Lay the hem tape (in your To Go bag) on top of your folded edge, and fold your folded edge one more time, sandwiching your hem tape in the fold (but ensuring it doesn't hang out). The end length of your curtain should be the same length as the "finished" curtain that you intially measured. Take this moment to measure the end length of the curtain before your iron it and finalize it. That way, if it's totally wrong, you have one last chance in this moment to make sure the end length is right. Play with it until it's right. Once it's right, lay it out on the ironing board (you can use heavy items to help hold it down flat). Get a rag wet (like the rags under the kitchen sinks). Your curtain needs to be on a ironing board or a fabric surface (the next step won't work on say, a granite countertop, floor or a desk). Lay the curtain on the ironing board, and then lay the wet rag on top of the curtain. Press the iron down on top of the wet rag. Let it rest there for a few seconds. Go all along the edge in the same way. If it isn't sticking - either your rag is getting too dry, or the surface you're ironing on isn't right (again, ironing board or fabric surface is crucial).
e) Hang up the curtain! Screw the end caps on the curtain rod on tight.
14) THEIR CLOSET HAS AT LEAST 15 HANGERS IN IT.
Take a peek and make sure that every empty bed in the room has at least 15+ hangers in a nearby wardrobe. (If it already has more, leave it that way).
