  • Sample of One Session vs Two Session Event

    • One session
      • A one-session event of 60 lifters will take approximately 9 hours
      • You need 5 referees in total
    • Two session
      • Use this when you have more than 60 lifters
      • You’ll need approximately 2-3 more referees
      • Session two will weigh in and do equipment check while session one is still lifting

Example of 75 lifter event with two sessions

    • 38 athletes in the morning session and 37 in the afternoon session
    • 38 lifters will take approximately 6 hrs (38×9=342, (342+20)/60=6.03 hrs)
      • Approximately 1 minute for each lift = 342 minutes.  Add 20 minutes for the platform change between events = 362 minutes. Divide 362 by 60 minutes to get 6.03 hours)

Assume your morning session will start at 9:00 am and end at 3:00 pm. Your afternoon session will start at 3:30 pm and will end at approximately 9:00 pm (37×9=333, (333+20)/60=5.88hrs).

The speed at which your event runs depends on

    • Having an efficient platform crew (spotters & loaders)
    • Having knowlegable scoring table staff
    • Having educated lifters that know how the flights run (back to back)
    • Having technical issues will cost time and bring the competition to a halt
