The deadline for submission of the scholarship application and supporting information must be electronically submitted or sent via mail by April 15, 2021.

The scholarship will be awarded to a student who is not receiving any other tennis scholarship.

Applicants must have participated in United States Tennis Association (USTA) and other organized youth tennis programs.
- All applications and submitted materials become the property of PATD and will not be returned.
- Recipients will be notified of acceptance, in writing, and will be required to return an official acceptance form with information regarding the college he or she will be attending, including a headshot photo (no photocopy) to be used for publicity.
- Recipients of the PATD scholarship are expected to enroll as a full-time undergraduate student, as defined by the institution the student will attend, no later than the opening fall semester or term after being selected for the scholarship.
- Recipients of the PATD scholarship will be expected to participate on the tennis team, intramural program or any other college tennis program during the freshman year. Twenty hours of tennis-related community service, during the freshman year, will be considered if the above can not be completed.
- If circumstances arise whereby an award recipient is unable to enroll in the fall of 2021, the recipient must submit a written request for deferment of which would be limited to 2 years. Each request will be reviewed and determined on a case-by-case basis. Failure to obtain approval from PATD to change or delay the use of the scholarship will lead to forfeiture of his/her right to the scholarship.
- Should a Scholarship recipient wish to transfer to another college or university, a written request must be submitted to PATD, along with a current transcript confirming that they are in good standing. Each request will be reviewed and determined on a case-by-case basis.
Description of Scholarship
- Applicants must be a high school graduating senior student who has demonstrated achievement in leadership and participated extensively in an organized community, or school tennis program. Applicants must demonstrate sportsmanship on and off the court.
- Telephone and/or in-person interviews may be conducted as part of the PATD final selection process.
- The scholarship will be a one-time award.
- The scholarship will be paid directly to the college or university contingent upon participation on the tennis team, intramural, or any other college tennis program during the freshman year, including tennis community service. Documentation from the college coach or program director will be required after participation.
SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING MATERIAL TO SUBSTANTIATE THE APPLICATION PROCESS
- This electronic application signed by the applicant and parent/guardian.
- A typed RECOMMENDATION from the applicant's current tennis coach/program director. This recommendation may be electronically uploaded into this application.
- A typed ESSAY explaining how the applicant's participation in a tennis program has impacted his/her life. it should include, but not limited to, volunteer services, tennis-related activities, other activities, etc.
