Rules for Addition/Alteration:

- Must be placed at least 15-foot from any camper or structure.

- Must not be placed under a tree with less than 25-foot clearance between fire and branches

- Pit must be hand dug a minimum of 2 inches into the ground but no deeper than 6 inches.

- Ash must be removed and properly disposed of whenever the ash has filled the pit (level with the ground).

- Follow the Fire Safety Rules listed below.

 

Rules for Removal:

- No Dumping in Dumpsters (please haul away or contact office for disposal help/arrangements)

- Any holes in the ground left by the removal must be filled by black topsoil and grass seeded.

 

Fire Safety:

Check Wind Conditions, Build the Fire with the intent of duration, Don’t Burn Treated Construction Lumber, Keep Chairs at a Safe Distance, Don’t Burn in the Open, Never Leave a Fire Unattended, Heed No-Burn Alerts, Be Ready to Extinguish the flames, Drink Responsibly.

Permit cost: Free (but the permit must be returned promptly following project to avoid a fine)
