The Vermont Center for Photography, a vibrant non-profit organization with a 26-year history, is at an exciting and pivotal moment in its journey. Over the past three years, we have experienced remarkable growth, and because of that we are seeking a Communications Coordinator to join our small but mighty team. This role will play a key part in supporting our continued expansion and advancing our mission as we look toward the future. The Communications Coordinator will play a vital role in strengthening our outreach efforts as well as fostering meaningful connections with our members, donors, and the broader community.
VCP is currently seeking applicants who can commit to a minimum of three 7-hour days per week, working in-person, starting immediately, with the possibility of expanding those hours based on performance. We are seeking candidates who demonstrate strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
MEMBERSHIP & DONOR MANAGEMENT
• Processing renewals and new sign-ups in-person and online
• Distributing membership cards
• Sending membership renewal reminders
• Maintaining membership and donor database (Little Green Light)
SOCIAL MEDIA & MARKETING
• Generate creative and engaging content for Instagram & Facebook
• Generate bi-weekly email newsletter via MailChimp
• Assist in regular maintenance of Wordpress website
• Generate and distribute press releases for exhibits and events
PROGRAMMING
• Lead efforts to generate monthly workshop/class offerings
• Coordinate private one-on-one tutorials
• Assisting in development of artist talks and other events

OTHER INFO
All staff generally assist with:
• General cleaning and upkeep of VCP's facilities
• Assisting customers in VCP's public labs and thrift store on particularly busy days
• Taking orders from public for VCP's fine-art printing and digitizing services
• Logistical preparations for large fundraisers and exhibitions
• Answering phone calls and general emails
Preferred Skills
• Keen understanding of social media platforms
• Strong graphic design and aesthetic skills
• Moderate/strong skills using Adobe software
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks during the course of the day
Compensation & Benefits:
• $17-$20/hour commensurate with experience
