Adventure into the art of drawing portraits from life with the technique called chiaroscuro, pronounced key-uh-ro-skuh-roh,an Italian word meaning "light-dark." da Vinci, Rembrandt and Vermeer were some of the masters who used this technique.
Using Conte Crayon and pastel pencils on toned paper, we will create the illusion of volume, modeleing and depth using the drama of light. Discover how the value of life studies impact studio work and the potential beauty in simplicity of medium!
The class will be held in the lower level of the Vicksburg District Library at 215 S. Michigan Ave, in Vicksburg Wednesday, August 21, from 1:00 to 3:00.
The fee is $35 and includes all materials.
