Matt Charles is the founder of Sliding Lodge Performance Horses, based in Bungonia NSW. He specialises in developing performance horses and riders, with a strong focus on reining and western performance disciplines.

Matt has trained under and learned from leading horsemen including Shawn Flarida, Joe Schmidt, Rob Lawson, Rodney Peachey and other respected professionals within the reining and performance horse industry.

His accomplishments include multiple Open Reining titles and strong results at major events, along with developing horses and riders to perform consistently at competition level.

Matt also holds a certificate in sports psychology, which underpins the Rider Performance Program. This allows him to combine practical horsemanship with proven performance principles, helping riders improve their focus, composure, and decision making under pressure.
