    For new applicants only: You must obtain copies of your transcripts from each high school, technical school, college, and university you have attended. Please combine all transcripts into a single PDF file and upload it with your application.

    Part of this application requires a detailed statement (up to 750 words) describing your educational plans and degree objectives.

    For scholarship renewals:

    • You must obtain copies of your lates transcripts from each  technical school, college, and university you have attended. These must be complete showing classes, grades, and cumulative GPA through the most recent semester completed.

    • Utility employee letter of good standing (if applicable)

      Quick summary
      • Who it’s for: Students pursuing an undergraduate, associate, or technical program aligned with the water/wastewater/environmental profession.
      • Membership preference: Preference is given to WEAT-NTS members and children/dependents of WEAT-NTS members.
      • Major preference: Preference is given to Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Computer Science, Management, or Public Administration (other majors are not excluded).
      • Academic preference: Strong GPA and (if applicable) SAT/ACT scores are considered.
      • Additional factors: Leadership, community service, achievements, and financial need may be considered.
      Award & recipient requirements
      • Scholarship assistance is typically paid in two installments: 50% (Fall) and 50% (Spring).
      • To receive the Spring payment, recipients must submit Fall transcripts and a one-page summary of the Fall semester and Spring goals.
      • Recipients are expected to maintain a 3.0 GPA (unless an exemption is granted by the Scholarship Committee).
      • Recipients must be considered full-time (generally ≥12 credit hours) or part-time (generally ≥6 credit hours), as applicable to the student.
      About WEAT-NTS

      WEAT-NTS is the North Texas Section of the Water Environment Association of Texas (WEAT), a member association of the Water Environment Federation (WEF). WEAT-NTS supports education and professional development related to water quality, wastewater collection and treatment, and environmental stewardship.

      The WEAT-NTS Scholarship was established in 1996 and continues to be supported through seminars, donations, and investment growth.

      Quick summary
      • Who it’s for: Students with a North Texas utility affiliation (operations, maintenance, laboratory, or related roles) and/or their children/dependents.
      • Strong preference: Applicants with North Texas utility affiliation. WEAT-NTS membership (or children/dependents of members) may also be considered.
      • Program preference: Preference is given to two-year degree programs and to programs/courses directly related to water and wastewater treatment.
      • Academic preference: Strong GPA is considered.
      • Additional factors: Achievements and community service may be considered.
      Award & renewal requirements (Daryl Hall)
      • Scholarship assistance is paid in one installment per award period.
      • Recipients must re-apply for each Fall or Spring semester in which they seek an award.
      • To receive the Spring payment, recipients must submit Fall transcripts and a one-page summary of the Fall semester and Spring goals.
      • Recipients are expected to maintain a 3.0 GPA (unless an exemption is granted by the Scholarship Committee).
      • Recipients must be considered full-time (generally ≥12 credit hours) or part-time (generally ≥6 credit hours), as applicable to the student.
      • If you are applying based on utility affiliation, you may be asked to provide a utility letter of good standing (as applicable).
      About the Daryl Hall Scholarship

      The Daryl Hall Scholarship Fund was established in memory of Daryl Hall, former Chief Maintenance Mechanic at the Trinity River Authority Central Regional Wastewater System. The scholarship is supported through the efforts of the Hall family, WEAT-NTS officers, volunteers, and community fundraising events.

      The fund was created to support the working men and women involved in operations, maintenance, and laboratory work for North Texas utilities, as well as their children.
