    At Westlane, our mission is to raise exceptional Labrador Retrievers and place them in thoughtfully matched, loving homes. This agreement is designed to ensure the lifelong wellbeing of each puppy while providing a clear, transparent, and supportive experience for every buyer.
  • This agreement is entered into between:

    Sellers: Jessica Smith and Brittany Swanzy of Westlane (aka: Westlane Dogs or Westlane Labradors) and the buyer listed below.
  • Purchase Details

    • The total Purchase Price: $2,800
    • Deposit Paid: $500 
    • Remaining Balance Due: $2,300
      • The remaining balance is due in full at the time of pickup (via cash - unless otherwise arranged in advance)

  • Buyer's Information

  • Registration Information

    The buyer's information inputted above, will be submitted to AKC for their puppy's registration paperwork (once registered, AKC will email about your new puppy - is recommended per AKC to check your spam folder)
  • Limited Registration

    This puppy is being sold with LIMITED REGISTRATION. This means that it cannot be bred, and if doing so - any offspring from him/her are not eligible for registration with the AKC, CKC, or any recognized registry.

    The Buyer agrees:

    • The dog will not be used for breeding
    • The dog will not be represented as breeding quality
  • Lifetime Breeder Support

  • At NO TIME shall this dog be given to the Humane Society or to an Animal Shelter.

    If the Buyer is unable to keep the dog at any point, Westlane will:

    • Accept the return of the dog, or
    • Assist in rehoming

    Westlane remains committed to every puppy for its lifetime.

  • First Veterinary Examination & Initial Health Guarantee

    Westlane guarantees that your puppy is free of life-threatening diseases or disabilities at the time of sale. Each puppy is thoroughly examined by our licensed veterinarian prior to leaving our care.
  • To qualify for an immediate replacement or refund if a life-threatening disease or disability is discovered, the following conditions must be met:

    The Buyer agrees to have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours (3 days) of possession, at the buyer’s own expense.

    If a life-threatening illness or condition is identified during this period:

    • A written diagnosis from the veterinarian must be provided
    • The puppy must be returned within 3 days of the exam
    • Transportation costs are the responsibility of the Buyer

    Upon verification, Westlane will review the situation and determine an appropriate resolution, which may include a replacement puppy or a refund up to the purchase price.

  • General Health & Care Requirements

    This puppy is sold as a companion pet first and foremost and is to be loved, cared for, and treated as a valued member of the family. 
  • The Buyer agrees to provide responsible, lifelong care, including:

    • Maintaining a healthy weight appropriate for a Labrador Retriever
    • Routine veterinary care (vaccinations, parasite prevention, etc.)
    • Continuous access to clean water
    • Safe and secure outdoor accommodations
      • Provide a secure backyard, such as a securely fenced yard (minimum 5 feet high), - or - a kennel run measuring at least 6x12 feet.
      • Protection from extreme weather conditions

    The puppy shall not be subjected to neglect, prolonged tethering, or excessive confinement.

  • Training & Social Development

  • Westlane strongly recommends basic obedience training. This supports proper development and strengthens the bond between the buyer and puppy.

    The buyer has read Westlane's Puppy Guidelines and Rules of the Road - information that is shared on their website (under info tab).

     

  • Hip & Elbow Health Guarantee

    Westlane has bred this litter with great care and in good conscience, using sound genetic stock with verified health clearances.
  • We agree to the following:

    If the puppy is diagnosed with severe hip or elbow dysplasia before the age of 26 months, and the condition is deemed severe enough to interfere with the dog’s ability to function as a companion pet, Westlane will, at its discretion, provide either a replacement puppy of equal value or a refund up to the purchase price.

    This guarantee is contingent upon the following:

    • The condition must be confirmed by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA)
    • Documentation must be provided to Westlane
    • The dog must not have been bred
    • The condition must not be caused by injury, neglect, or improper care (over-exercise, obesity, etc)

    Please note:
    There are no 100% guarantees when working with living creatures. Westlane does its due diligence by providing health clearances for all breeding stock, which are displayed on our website with direct links to OFA and DNA records. 

  • Refunds & Replacement Conditions

  • Westlane will review each case individually and determine an appropriate resolution based on the circumstances and documentation provided

    To be eligible for consideration:

    • The dog must remain in original ownership
    • The dog must not have been bred
    • All AKC registration paperwork must be returned
    • Spay/Neuter Verification (if applicable)
      • If the puppy has been spayed or neutered, the procedure must have been performed no earlier than 18 months of age - unless otherwise advised by a licensed veterinarian.
      • A signed letter from the licensed veterinarian who performed the surgery is required. This letter must include: confirmation of the date the procedure was completed, as well as the veterinarian’s full name, clinic name, address, phone number, and license number.

     

  • Health Guarantee Exclusions

    In the event of a health-related dispute regarding the puppy, Westlane reserves the right to consult with and defer to its own licensed veterinarian. Any decisions regarding the validity of a health claim, replacement, or refund will be made at Westlane’s reasonable discretion based on veterinary documentation.
  • Our Health Guarantees Do NOT Apply to conditions resulting from:

    • Injury, disability, or death resulting from illnesses, infections, or accidents occurring after the puppy leaves Westlane’s care.
    • Neglect or abuse
    • Failure to maintain proper veterinary care
    • Improper nutrition or obesity
    • Over-exercising or unsafe physical activity, especially during the key puppy development stages

     

  • Governing Law & Legal Terms

    • This agreement shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas. Any disputes shall be handled in Shelby County, Texas.
    • If any disputes arise, the buyer agrees not to post false or misleading statements.
    • In all cases, liability shall not exceed the original purchase price of the puppy.
    • Westlane does not guarantee adult size, weight, temperament, or final shade of color (example: yellows can range from white to very light or darker yellow; chocolates can be light shade to darker shade)
    • Breeding this puppy, or allowing it to be bred, will be considered a breach of contract and may result in legal action or the forfeiture of it back to Westlane.
    • Westlane has 1st right of refusal, meaning if the buyer sells the puppy to a 3rd party without offering Westlane the opportunity to purchase it back first, Westlane can then sue the owner for damages. Buyer must notify Westlane in writing and allow 14 days to respond.
