  • ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

If you are selected to serve with WSP, staff will contact you in late July/early August with an offer of provisional enrollment. You will then need to complete pre-enrollment paperwork, submit supporting documentation, and complete additional steps leading up to WSP’s first program week (Orientation, October 5th-10th 2026 in Fortuna, CA). Please indicate below if you meet the following eligibility requirements.
  • National Criminal History Check:

To complete your enrollment and join WSP, all provisionally enrolled Corpsmembers must clear a National Service Criminal History Check(*NSCHC) in California AND for your state of residency. The state of residency is the state in which you are a resident at the time you submit this application (as you have indicated above). *The NSCHC includes the National Sex Offenders Registry, California Department of Justice, your State of Residency and FBI checks. Instructions will be emailed to enrollees in early August regarding how to initiate these NSCHCs.
  • Driving Record:

WSP Corpsmembers must have a clean driving record (no more than two points according to California’s Negligent Operator Treatment System point system) in order to drive Placement Site vehicles. Moving violations result in points. Having two or more points on your driving record may impact your ability to enroll. WSP will confirm all Corpsmembers’ driving records with the California DMV during the enrollment process. If you are applying from out of state and are provisionally enrolled, we highly recommend you be present in California by September 15th in order to obtain a California driver's license.
  • Placement Site Preferences & Corpsmember Placement

Your answers to the following questions will inform WSP staff when matching you to a Placement Site. Please read the Placement Site Summaries (on the WSP website) to learn more about the type of work each site conducts. There is no guarantee your application packet will be sent to all of the sites you list as preferences. WSP works to match applicants with sites based on both the site’s needs and the Corpsmember’s interests.
