    The Yawgoo Valley Snow Sports 5-Week January Lesson Program is a five-week instructional program. Each student participates in one weekly lesson for five consecutive weeks. Alpine Ski and Snowboard lessons are provided by professional PSIA and AASI instructors. Lessons begin the first week of January 2026 (weather permiting).

    The January Program is for children ages 3 and older, teens and adults. From first-timers to advanced skiers & riders, the January Program offers group lessons for a wide range of skier and rider levels and abilities.

    Our mission is to build a stronger foundation of skiers and riders by offering continuous and progression-based learning, building on the student’s previous experience.

    Should you wish for more flexibility we recommend private lessons.

    Waitlist applications will be contacted begining in early October. Applications that fit within the remaining available age groups and sports will receive an email invitation to book an in-person appointment. This application does not guarantee enrollment.

     This is a waitlist application. We will contact you if there are openings based on the information you have provided.

     Some important information to note:

     - All lessons will begin on their respective days starting on Friday, January 2nd, 2026. Classes will be held once weekly for 5-consecutive weeks. The final week of classes is expected to be held the week of January 30th to Feburary 5th, however, in the event of postponed classes, they may be delayed 1-3 additional weeks (or more). Due to weather delays being beyond our control, we will not issue any credits should students be unable to attend postponed classes. THERE ARE NO MAKE UP LESSONS OR SWITCHING TO ANOTHER DAY. 

    - If you are invited to join the program, all registration payments are non-refundable. Registrations cannot be transferred to another student nor can students change their class day, time or sport once registration is processed.

    GENERAL POLICES

    ABSENT/ILLNESS POLICY
    Yawgoo Valley is not responsible for missed classes due to personal reasons or non-medically excusable. No refunds, credits, or make-ups will be offered for personal absences.

    ACCURATE INFORMATION
    You do a disservice to your child, other children, and families – as well as our staff and your child’s instructor – by knowingly misrepresenting your child’s age or ability. If there is reason to suspect a misrepresented date of birth or experience level, you may be subject to removal from the program.

    CHAIRLIFT RIDING
    Chairlift riding classes will NOT be offered for Kinder programs and the Mini Ski programs will have only limited days and times for chair riders. Should your child have intermediate or advanced experience at this age level, you are encouraged to reach out to a Snowsports representative or take a private lessons.

    HELMETS
    Helmets for purchase will be available in the Pro Shop starting in November.  We do not rent helmets and they are not included in any rental equipment package. Visit our website for Pro Shop hours in late October .Helmets are not required, but we encourage their use.

    INCLEMENT WEATHER & MAKEUP POLICY
    We are a weather-dependent facility, relying solely on mother nature & our own snow-making capabilities.  We reserve the right to cancel/postpone lessons as deemed necessary by management for the safety of our guests and staff, non-ideal snow conditions or excessive inclement weather.  Yawgoo Valley also reserves the right to extend program lessons through holiday periods as well as through the month of March if necessary to complete the classes.

    In the event of cancelation, guests will be notified via our website under our daily operations report as well as email. Due to constantly changing weather forecasts, guests are encouraged to verify operations every morning prior to leaving for the resort.

    REFUND POLICY

    All registration payments are non-refundable. Registrations cannot be transferred to another student. Program day cannot be changed once payment is complete.

    CLASS REQUESTS

    The success of our programs is built on creating groups of a similar age and ability.  Class times are determined by age and level. These determinations are made by the Snowsports School Supervisors. We cannot guarantee any special requests for lesson placements. Class times or days cannot be changed once payment is submitted.

    INSTRUCTOR CONSISTENCY
    Snow Sports will attempt to ensure instructor consistency; however, we reserve the right to assign your lesson to an alternate instructor if:

    The instructor is not scheduled to work or calls in sick on the date of your reservation OR The instructor has previous commitments.


    SCHEDULE

    TARDINESS POLICY

    Yawgoo Valley is not responsible for missed classes by the student. No refunds, credits, or make-ups will be offered for absences.

    Yawgoo Valley is not responsible for late arrivals to class. No refunds, credits, or make-ups will be offered for any missed portions of the class.

    Should you arrive late, staff will do their best to connect the student with their group in a timely fashion, however, this may take additional time if the group is on the chairlift. Please do your best to arrive early to ensure your student gets the most out of their experience.

    PROGRAM RENTAL EQUIPMENT

    • Rental equipment is only available on your lesson day and must be returned after each lesson.
    • Students not fitted within the dates provided by Yawgoo Valley for Program Enrollment, will not be offered the program rate, but a daily rental rate ($35).
    • Program Rental Equipment is first-come first-serve due to limited stock.
    • Families who choose to rent then upgrade to a Pro Shop Lease will be credited the amount paid for the Program Rental.
    • Program Renal Equipment cancelled prior to November 30, 2025 will be refunded in full.
    • Program Rental Equipment cancelled after November 30, 2025 is non refundable. Equipment payments cannot be transferred to another student.

    YAWGOO VALLEY 2025-2026 SEASON 5-WEEK JANUARY LESSON PROGRAM RELEASE/WAIVER & ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF RISK

    THIS WAIVER APPLIES TO ALL LESSONS PROVIDED DURING THE STUDENT’S 5-WEEK LESSON PROGRAM DURING THE 2025-2026 SEASON.

    THIS IS A CONTRACT – PLEASE READ BEFORE SIGNING

    Terms of Purchase and/or Participation:
    I or my legal guardian, agree to freely and expressly assume and accept the responsibility for any and all risks associated with the use of Yawgoo Valley Ski Area. In consideration of the above and for being allowed to use the facilities of Yawgoo Valley Ski Area. I or my legal guardian, agree to RELEASE Yawgoo Valley Ski Area and its representatives from liability for all claims for personal injury to person or property. I or my legal guardian, further agree to HOLD HARMLESS Yawgoo Valley Ski Area for any loss, liability or damage I may incur as a result of any injury to myself or anyone for whom this agreement is signed.  I or my legal guardian agree that RHODE ISLAND LAW shall govern any and all disputes between myself/my legal guardian & Yawgoo Valley Ski Area regarding any alleged incident and EXECUTIVE JURISDICTION shall be in the State or Federal Court of the State of Rhode Island.

    By entering this property, I agree to comply with all resort policies. Management reserves the right to determine the occurrence of trespassing or any other misconduct as well as involve any necessary law enforcement for the safety and security of its customers, employees, facilities, & equipment. Resort management reserves the right to close the resort due to inclement weather or hazardous conditions without notice.

    Entrance is revocable by management if I engage in improper conduct or commits an act which may endanger myself, or others.

    I or my legal guardian agree to accept all responsibility for the risks, conditions and hazards which may occur whether they now be know or unknown. I or my legal guardian agree that I alone am responsibly for my safety while at Yawgoo Valley Ski Area. I or my legal guardian freely and voluntarily enter into this agreement.

     

    1.       Inherent Risks: I agree and understand that skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing involve risks, dangers and hazards that may cause serious personal injury or death. Risks include, but are not limited to, variations in terrain, weather and snow conditions (surfaces), ice, moguls, bare spots, rocks, stumps, forest growth, debris, fences, posts, trees, lift equipment and towers, the operations of chairlifts or surface lifts, chairlift or surface lift loading, riding and unloading operations, light poles, signs, building ramps, roads and walkways, obstacles (man-made or natural), snowmaking, grooming and snowmobile equipment & operations, and collisions with other persons and other natural and man-made hazards, including collisions with people and obstacles adjacent to, and off the skiable terrain such as snowmaking pipes, hydrants, snow guns and other snowmaking equipment. I acknowledge the risk in the sport of skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing, and accept full responsibility for any personal injury which may result from my participation in the sport. I will follow the Skier Responsibility Code (aka Your Responsibility Code).

     

    2.       I agree with the premise that my entry into and use of the Freestyle Terrain Park and the elements and features it contains may be more hazardous than skiing and snowboarding outside of the park, as it may contain risks and dangers including but not limited to: features, elements, jumps, ramps, rails, boxes and other features constructed out of a variety of materials in various configurations and locations, other guests using the park, the ability to become airborne when using the various features and the subsequent landing which creates the possibility of serious injury and/or death from using the various features. I agree that the participant is always encouraged and provided an opportunity to conduct a reasonable physical and visual inspection of the Freestyle Terrain Park prior to use and throughout the day, and I agree to physically and visually inspect the Freestyle Terrain Park and the elements and features it contains prior to using them. I agree to refrain from reckless skiing, riding or participating in conduct that is not consistent with safe and prudent skiing/snowboarding, violates “Your Responsibility Code,” the Smart Style Freestyle Terrain Park rules, general ski area rules or the law. I agree and understand that I will be held to assume the risk of all Freestyle Terrain Park use.

     

     

    Your Responsibility Code

    1.       Always stay in control. You must be able to stop or avoid people or objects.

    2.       People ahead or downhill of you have the right-of-way. You must avoid them.

    3.       Stop only where you are visible from above and do not restrict traffic.

    4.       Look uphill and avoid others before starting downhill or entering a trail.

    5.       You must prevent runaway equipment.

    6.       Read and obey all signs, warnings, and hazard markings.

    7.       Keep off closed trails and out of closed areas.

    8.       You must know how and be able to load, ride and unload lifts safely. If you need assistance, ask the lift attendant.

    9.       Do not use lifts or terrain when impaired by alcohol or drugs.

    10.    If you are involved in a collision or incident, share your contact information with each other and a ski area employee.

    3.       I consent to the use by Releasees of any pictures (video and print) for commercial purposes, or otherwise, of me in connection with the activities of the Releasees, without restriction as to frequency, duration or medium.  

     

    4.       I acknowledge that I have read, agree with, and understand the terms of this Yawgoo Valley Ski Area RELEASE AND ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF RISK and that I am signing it freely and that the terms of this contract state that I expressly assume all risks of damages, injury and/or death resulting in any way from any inherent risks of the sport in which I may participate at Yawgoo Valley Ski Area.  I also agree to abide by the terms of any rules of conduct for sports participants posted at Yawgoo Valley Ski Area or contained in its posted signage, seasonal trail maps, brochures or handouts. I understand and accept that skiing and other winter sports activities available at Yawgoo Valley Ski Area involve risk. I agree to comply with the skier/snowboarder Responsibility Code and Park Smart.

     

    Snow Sports

    I agree that the term “inherent risks” is set out in item 1 of this document. I have read and understood this definition and agree with it. I further understand and accept that because of these factors, an instructor cannot be responsible for the protection of individuals in Yawgoo Valley Snow Sports School from injury or harm. In consideration of the permission to participate in classes, instructions and/or lessons by the Yawgoo Valley Snow Sports School, I hereby freely and expressly assume and accept the responsibility for any and all risks of injury or death while participating in these activities or related activities, or while present on YVSA’s premises. Therefore, I agree that I will not make any claim nor participate or cooperate in the filing of any claim or suit for harm or injury of any kind to the child(ren) participating in Yawgoo Valley Snow Sports School which harm or injury in any way results from such “inherent risks”.

     

    5.       I understand that permission to participate in classes, instructions and/or lessons and/or to use Releasees’ Freestyle Terrain Park and the elements and features it contains, equipment, trail system and premises is being given to the undersigned participant. I have read the above paragraphs and fully understand them. I understand that this is a RELEASE OF LIABILITY in the event of personal injury, death or property damage.

     

    6.       I also grant Yawgoo Valley Ski Area and its employees and/or agents permission to act in my stead in the event that my child is injured and/or requires medical attention, and my consent to provide such care.

     

    7.       In the event that my child’s equipment requires adjustments, I understand that a Snow Sports employee will remove my child from the lesson, and I will bring my child and the equipment to the Rental or ProShop. I understand that all YVSA representatives can only adjust equipment provided by YVSA.
