Thank you for taking an interest in one of our courses offered at YWAM San Jose! It is our intention that the application process serve as a valuable tool in helping both you and us prayerfully evaluate whether this is the right course for you at this time.

School Fees & Payments

Please note. It is the policy of YWAM San José that each student pay their full lecture phase tuition during the month prior to the start of the school (or upon arrival if unable to do the former). If unable to pay the full amount, a minimum of 50% must be paid during registration the first week in order to attend the training program. The remaining 50% must be paid by week 4 of the school. Refund policy
Once a student enrolls, it is expected they will continue through the entire school and complete payment.

However, YWAM San Jose will refund a student's LECTURE PHASE for the following reasons:

Student voluntarily withdraws from the school.
Student is asked to leave because of breach of code of conduct; or is unwilling to meet the academic and spiritual standards of the school.
Refund schedule is as follows:

LECTURE PHASE
Prior to the start of the school - 100%
1st week - 95%
2nd week - 75%
3rd week - 60%
4th week - 50%
5th and beyond - 0%

The early withdrawal of a student could be for different reasons, which will in turn be walked through with the school leader and the base director.

OUTREACH PHASE
All outreach fees are NON-Refundable at the commencement of the outreach.
However, unforeseen circumstances such as sickness or emergencies will be assessed on a case by case basis.

Health Insurance

Every student attending a YWAM San Jose school MUST SHOW proof of valid medical insurance.
I understand and agree that if accepted to a YWAM San Jose School, I MUST HAVE adequate and valid medical insurance coverage for the duration of my school, and that failure to do so may result in my dismissal from the school.*

Consent for Medical Treatment and Release of Liability

In case of emergency, I {name} hereby agree to the performance of such treatment, anesthetics, and operations as is deemed necessary by the attending physician.

Release of Liability

And I hereby release Youth With A Mission, it's agents, employees, and volunteers from any liability whatsoever arising out of any injury, damage, or loss which may be sustained by said person during the course of involvement with Youth With A Mission. In accordance with biblical principles, I agree to resolve any and all disputes with Youth With A Mission, YWAM Leader, or staff by means of reconciliation or mediation and waive any right to pursue action by way of litigation.

I further acknowledge that YWAM San Jose cannot guarantee that I will not become infected with the Coronavirus/Covid-19. I understand that YWAM San Jose is not responsible if I become exposed to and/or someone infected by the Coronavirus/ COVID-19 that may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of myself and others, including, but not limited to, ministry staff and their families.

Statement and Consent for Burial

We at YWAM San Jose Costa Rica, encourage each YWAM Staff, prospective student and volunteer to seriously consider some possible consequences of missions work and training. Although death is extremely rare in service with Youth With A Mission internationally, it is nevertheless an experience that awaits each one of us eventually. It is important that we all prepare for such possibilities and have a clear plan of action if such instances arise during our time of study or service with Youth With A Mission.

YWAM International strongly encourages burial on the field, as decay can start very quickly and transport of the body from the overseas location can be very costly. In order to be shipped, some laws require a special coffin and the coffin must be accompanied by someone on the return journey.

We endeavor to maintain a Christian view of death, it is not the final step but just a passage; the person is not in the coffin, just his/her earthly shell.

In case of death, YWAM San Jose cannot commit to cover the costs of shipping the body to another country for purposes of burial, or ultimately cover the burial costs in the country of death. If the family desires to see the body transported back home, the family must incur the cost.

I agree that in the case of my death while in Youth With A Mission San Jose, Youth With A Mission San Jose may carry out the burial in the location of the deceased. If my family desires to have my body shipped home, my family is prepared to pay all costs. I hereby absolve Youth With A Mission San Jose and all its staff and associates of the burial costs.

I consent to carry out burial and agree to absolve Youth With A Mission of burial costs.
