    Applicant Eligibility Requirements:

    A. Must be a command-sponsored (on orders) dependent of an active duty military member (all services) or a SOFA-sponsored employee based at Camp Zama, Yokohama North Docks, or Sagami Depot.

    B. Must plan to attend school in the 2025-2026 academic year, and must be working toward the completion of a certificate, license, degree, or other accredited program. Full-time enrollment is not required for this scholarship. If you are unsure if your program meets the requirement, please email zacsa.scholarships@gmail.com.  

    C. Previous ZaCSA Scholarship recipients of $1000 or more are not eligible to reapply.

    4. As you look towards your future, what career or academic goals do you have? Provide specific examples of how your life experiences have inspired these ambitions.


    5. Write about the role of your family, friends, or mentors in shaping your values and helping you navigate your future plans. How have they influenced your goals?

  • Selection Process

    Applicants will be evaluated based on completeness of application; academics; enrichment activities; and essay response(s).

    Applications remain anonymous during the selection process. All private information will be removed from the applications prior to judging.

    Scholarship money is not guaranteed to all applicants. Successful applicants will be awarded scholarships in the amount of no less than $500. The number of scholarships awarded will be based on the funds available for the year. All applicants will be notified of the results.

    Scholarships will be awarded without regard to gender, race, or creed of applicant, rank of sponsor, or financial status.
