The ASA/ACM/AMS/IMS/MAA/SIAM 2019–2020 Science and Technology Policy Fellowship focuses on data science and related expertise such as machine learning, data visualization, and causal inference to meet legislative and policymaking challenges.
Fellows serve one year in a federal agency or on the staff of a senator, representative, or congressional committee beginning September 2019 (pending funding). Learn about the executive and legislative processes and lend statistical and scientific expertise to public policy issues.
Individuals who are US. citizens and have a PhD in statistics, data science, mathematics, or a closely related field are encouraged to apply. The ASA seeks candidates reflecting the diversity of our society. Applications are due by January 15, 2019, and require a candidate statement, biographical sketch, and three letters of reference.
