Membership Billing
March - we originally anticipated a 2-week closure commencing on March 16th and ending March 29th. At that time, we immediately communicated the option to FREEZE your membership through email, text, and Facebook. We are grateful for the vast majority of members who chose NOT to freeze, many of whom reached out specifically to request that their payments continue in appreciation of the value and support being provided by Gold's Gym through the at-home resources. In addition, they have recognized that their dues have helped the club to cover its fixed expenses and continue paying its full time staff during what has now become an extended closure. Please refer to the March 17th information below for further details.
April - regardless if you chose to freeze your membership during March or not, ALL billing will be stopped, effective April 1st, until we again re-open. Given the fact there will be no revenue coming into the club during the remainder of the closure, we're staying positive and remaining hopeful for our ability to stay in business and re-open in the future.

Closure - Common FAQs & Freeze Directions
Q: I have already been billed for my membership dues this month; am I being credited/refunded for the time the gym is closed?
A: No. We are planning to re-open and we are providing the resources listed above at no cost. However, you have the option to freeze your membership at any time.
Q: Is Gold’s Gym automatically freezing my membership due to the gym closure?
A: No, you must request a freeze in writing by submitting the form below. If you choose to do this, Gold’s Gym is providing members with a free 1-month freeze upon request. For freezes beyond one month, there is currently a $3/month maintenance fee for months 2 and beyond. If you would like to place your membership on a 1-month courtesy freeze, please submit the form below.
Q: Will I be billed for my membership dues this month if I choose not to freeze?
A: Yes. We are planning to re-open and we are providing access to the resources listed above, suited for all fitness levels to keep exercising and stay strong and healthy at home.
Q: Will you bill me for the $39 annual enhancement fee if the gym is closed and I freeze my membership?
A: Per the terms of your Gold’s Gym agreement, there is an annual enhancement fee of $39 associated with your membership. If your annual fee falls during your freeze period, it will be charged, so long as your membership is in effect. Please understand this is a temporary closure.
Q: I’m not interested in freezing; I just want to cancel. Can you help me?
A: Given the fact this will be a temporary closure, we’re sorry to hear that you want to cancel. We do require your request in writing, so please send your cancellation request via email to middletown@goldsgymhv.com. Please keep in mind that an enrollment fee will apply if you choose to re-join in the future. Thus, we strongly encourage you to freeze at this time.
Q: Will Members receive a prorated credit/refund for the time the gym is closed if membership is not placed on freeze?
A: No, you must freeze your membership through the form below. Before doing so, please keep in mind that during this closure, there are still considerable financial obligations that must be met during the closure such as utility bills, program licenses, franchise fees, mortgages, equipment loans, construction loans, and sanitizing costs to name a few. The gym is also continuing to pay its full time staff and provide the helpful resources listed above.
Q: If Members haven’t billed for the month yet, will they be billed the full dues amount?
A: Yes. Please see above.
Q: I was doing personal training or Alloy training. Will I still be billed for those services if I don't freeze my membership?
A: No. All training fees have been frozen at this time. If you recently paid for training services, you will be credited with those training sessions when the gym re-opens.
Q: Who can I email if I need to contact somebody regarding other questions?
A: middletown@goldsgymhv.com. This email address is frequently being monitored for messages 7 days a week.
Q: What’s the best way for me to stay connected to the gym for updates, workouts, and support at home?
A: Use the resources listed at the tope of this page. Also follow www.middletowninfo.net and www.facebook.com/GoldsGymMiddletown for continual updates and announcements. We will also be emailing and/or texting our members at times with the in-home workout schedule and announcements for the week!

Notice Regarding Our Gold's Gym Staff
Our staff is the heart of Gold’s Gym and their well-being is foremost in our minds. To enable our managers, fitness consultants, program directors, and other full-time staff to continue receiving a paycheck, we’ve come up with some creative ways for them to continue working an abbreviated schedule during the shutdown. We are very conscious of social distancing, so most responsibilities will be carried out remotely in the safety of their own homes. Full time staff will also continue to receive their full medical/dental/vision benefits if they are enrolled in those programs.
NYS has waived the 7-Day waiting period for Unemployment Insurance benefits for people who are out of work due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) closures or quarantines. All part-time staff has been encouraged to take advantage of this benefit. While we would love to also keep part-time employees on payroll during the shutdown, the loss of income from the daily operation of the gym and the many freezes/cancellations we have received, makes that impossible. The abbreviated payroll during the shutdown will enable us to continue to meet our financial obligations with regard to mortgages, equipment loans, construction loans, utilities, franchise fees, program licensing fees, insurance, etc., etc., so we are able to reopen to our members when the ban is lifted. At that time we are hopeful all employees, both full-time and part-time, will return to their current positions and you will again enjoy seeing the entire staff that makes Gold’s Gym such a special place.
Freeze Option
Any memberships that were not voluntarily frozen during March 2020 using the form below will automatically be frozen effective April 1st until we open again.
