I am happy to consider this application for a Letter of Recommendation (LOR) from those who
-
are seeking undergraduate* transfer admission to an accredited college or university,
-
or are seeking undergraduate* admission to a degree, certificate, work-study, or an institutionally-recognized club, society, or volunteer position (e.g. peer tutoring) at their current institution**,
-
and have earned at least a B+ in their most recently completed course.
*Please contact me before submitting this application if you are seeking admission to a graduate degree program (or any post-baccalaureate program).
**Current students in this catagory must have obtained my permission to submit this LOR request and must be carrying a B+ average at the time of its submission. Also, contrary to my "one student, one Letter" policy (below), students in this catagory may still request an additional LOR after the course ends.
Why a B+ or better?
Because a LOR should extoll only the highest praise, students whose course grade is below the B+ are encouraged to seek out a more suitable member of faculty.
One Student, One Letter
Since you are allowed only one application submission (except as explained in the second note, above), be sure to take your time and answer all of the questions accurately, as inaccurate information will result in a denial.
Please understand that this is an application for a LOR and, as such, it is subject to my final approval. Because how I remember you weighs heavily in my decision, past students of a year or more, regardless of grade, are less likely to gain an LOR from me. Simply put, I cannot write for anyone whom I do not hold strongly positive memories.
You will be notified of your application's status at the email address you provide herein.
