Request Exam to be added to your CASLI Exam System account

 

CASLI Office is closed for the holidays. 

Any Exam Requests submitted 12/20/2024 - 1/5/2025 will NOT be processed until 1st week of January (1/6/25 - 1/10/25).  Please allow additional time for your exam request to be processed.

Before filling out this form, please ensure that you have a CASLI Exam System account. CASLI cannot process your exam request if you do not have a CASLI Exam System account. To create an account, go to https://casli.app. Please make sure all information (name, email address, RID ID number) matches your RID account.

CASLI will determine your eligbility to test and your eligilibty to receive an RID member discount before adding an exam to your CES account.

To be eligible for member discounted exam rate, your paid membership MUST be current and active with expiration date of June 30, 2025 or later date.  IF your RID membership is not current /active, then you will not be assigned the member discounted exam rate.

Please review the following to ensure your eligibilty to take exam(s) before CASLI assigns the exam to your account. 

ALL candidates MUST have BOTH a RID ID number AND CASLI account. 

• For RID account, go to RID Login Page to create an account if you do not already have one. A 6 digits RID ID number will be assigned to you.   
• For CASLI account, go to CASLI Exam System page and create an account if you do not already have one. 

If you currently have national certification recognized by RID, specifically: CDI, CI/CT, NIC, NIC-advanced, NIC-Master, NAD III/IV/V, CSC, RSC, MCSC, IT/IC, CLIP, CLIP-R, OTC, or any other RID certification, general or specialist, THEN PLEASE STOP HERE. Please Refer to the Eligibility Requirements for CASLI Exams. Those currently holding only Ed:K-12 certification are exempt and are eligible to take CASLI exam.  

CASLI Generalist Knowledge Exam -  (This exam replaces the NIC Knowledge and CDI Knowledge that have been retired as of January 1, 2021)

Candidate pursuing the NIC Certification - no pre-requiste other than having both RID and CASLI accounts

Candidate pursing the CDI Certification - 

• Must have both RID and CASLI accounts
• Submit Audiogram to info@casli.org or testing@casli.org for review

CASLI Performance Exam - NIC:

• Candidate must have successfully passed the NIC Knowledge exam or CASLI Generalist Knowledge Exam (Fundamental of Interpreting portion is required before taking the Performance Exam)
• Satisfied the RID educational requirement (Bachelor's degree or approved Alternative Pathway). Please contact RID Certification Department at certification@rid.org to submit your educational requirment documentaton. 

CASLI Performance Exam - CDI (for Deaf interpreter):

• Candidate must have passed CDI Knowledge Exam or both portion of CASLI Generalist Knowledge Exam
• Completed the Learning Module of the Bridge Plan (ONLY for those who passed the CDI Knowledge Exam).
• Satisfied RID educational requirement (Bachelor's degree or higher OR approved Alternative Pathway plan). Please contact RID Certification Department at certification@rid.org to submit your educational requirment documentaton. 

 

Please READ before requesting exam:

For CASLI Generalist Knowledge exam (Both portion or Fundamental of Interpreting portion or Case Studies portion) - candidates MUST wait 3 months from the date they last took the exam(s) before they can request for exam to be added to their CASLI account.

For Performance exam - candidate MUST wait 6 months before they can request for exam to be added to their CASLI account from their previous Performance exam taken.

PLEASE CHECK YOUR LAST EXAM DATE BEFORE PUTTING IN YOUR EXAM REQUEST.  

Accommodation(s) requests must be submitted to CASLI before purchasing exam. If you plan to request accommodations for your exam, please refer to CASLI Exam Accommodation page and  Exam Accommodation Request Form. 

Exam accommodation request form MUST be submitted and approved prior to purchasing and scheduling your exam.  It is advised you do this in advance to allow time for CASLI to make a determination on the accommodation(s) request and communicate with the testing site.  Please do not purchase or schedule your exam until a determination has been made on the accommodation(s) request.

All information MUST be accurate and currently matching the information on your RID account. It is your responsibility to ensure all information on both RID and CASLI account are consistent and match each other. 

Submission of your Exam Request Form acknowledges that you have read everything and satisfied all the requirements prior to taking your exam.  If you are uncertain, please check your RID & CASLI account and contact CASLI at testing@CASLI.org 

Please allow for up to 3 business days for the exam to be added to your CASLI Exam System account OR a response from CASLI.
