• Welcome Students!

    All Students (including ProMedica employees) at a ProMedica facility are required to complete all elements of orientation. Please follow the steps below to complete the orientation materials.
  • Orientation Material

    • The following orientation material must be compelted in its entirety.
    • Read all elements carefully.
    • Upon completion of all orientation requirements, you will be redirected to the Student Attestation page. 
      • A completed copy of the attestation will be emailed to you. Submit the signed copy to your program coordinator.
    • Please submit all completed forms to student@promedica.org
  • General Overview

    To obtain placement:

    Students must contact their school for the procedure for setting up placements at ProMedica.

    • When the school provides the student with clinicals, contacts, or preceptor opportunities, students may proceed as directed.
    • When students must idenitfy their own contacts:
      • Students must contact the indivudal hospital site coordinator for further information on available opportunties in the clinical area of their interest/requirement by the school program.
      • Individual departments will need to agree to accept the student.
    • Students must meet all requirements as stated below.

  • Influenza Seasonal Requirement

    • During each influenza season (September-March), learners will be required to provide documentation of influenza vaccination status before they may enter any ProMedica hospital, clinic, laboratory, office or facility.
    • For more information about specific flu vaccination requirements, reach out to your site coordinator.

  • CPR Requirement

    • If the role of your preceptor requires them to be current in CPR, then you are also required to be current in CPR. ProMedica requires an AHA healthcare provider course.
  • School ID Number

    • You will use the last four digits of this number during your initial access to our computer systems, so please be sure you know your school ID number.
  • Error Prevention Training

    Watch the Error Prevention Training Module below. This training is only required once. You will click the slides to advance them, not the buttons at the bottom. Upon completion you will be required to fill out a form of completion at the end of the video. Once completed you will receive an email with an error prevention completion certificate. This certificate will need to be provided to your coordinator and keep a copy for your records.

  • Computer Access

    General Computer Access

    • Computer access for students is limited to the educational scope of your learning.
    • Please remember the importance of maintaining complete confidentiality in the use of our software. Schools, hospitals and the US Government all have penalties for breach of confidentiality. Your signed attestation is a statement that you understand these responsibilities.

    EPIC or other software needed for your experience:

    • Contact your site coordinator.
    • The following are instructions for when your student computer access does not work:
      • Please start by calling the service desk ONLY (419-291-3646).
      • If you continue to experience difficulty, please contact your site coordinator at your facility. They will help investigate the issue.
      • Please do not place multiple calls to different individuals. This slows down the process.
  • EPIC Training

    ONLY COMPLETE IF YOU ARE TOLD TO BY YOUR DEPARTMENT. NOT ALL STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO DO EPIC.

    YOU MUST CLICK THE LINK ON THIS SLIDE TOWARD THE END OF THE TRAINING AND FILL OUT THE FORM TO RECORD YOUR COMPLETION.

     

     

    IT CAN TAKE UP TO 72 HOURS TO GAIN ACCESS, YOU WILL NOT BE GRANTED ACCESS THE SAME DAY.

     

    You will need to know both your School ID number and your ProMedica ID number for computer access:

    • You will use the last four digits of your school ID number during your initial access to our computer systems as well as any time you need to reset a password.
    • You will need your ProMedica ID number every time you log into a computer.
    • Follow the steps within the Basic Computer Modules to log in and establish your initial password for Promedica.

  • ProMedica Student ID Badge

    • ProMedica Student ID badges must be worn and visible at all times while in a ProMedica facility.
    • ID badges cost $10/student and will be valid for 2 ½ years during all approved ProMedica rotations until graduation.
    • In the event a replacement ID is required, an additional $10 charge will occurr. 
    • ProMedica student ID numbers will be printed on the back of the ID badge. This number will be used for access to various computer systems and locations within ProMedica as appropriate to your learning needs as a student.
    • Information from your demographic data will be used to generate the ID badge. ID badges will NOT be available until 2 weeks after the student demographic/health record information has been received. We cannot generate your ID badge until the demographic information has been processed.
    • Please contact your school clinical coordinator to identify when you may visit for your ProMedica ID badge.
    • ID badges MUST be returned to where obtained (security/HR) upon completion of the last ProMedica learning experience in your program of study.
    • Please visit the appropriate security/HR location (see below) to acquire your ID badge. The location you select on the Request Form Link will be where your ID is sent. 
    • Please compelte the ProMedica ID Request Form at least 72 HOURS prior to going for ID badge

  • Parking


    Most of our hospitals are extremely busy places. Specific areas have been designated for patients and other visitors to increase their convenience. Students and instructors are required to park in the designated student areas at each ProMedica facility. Failure to park in the designated areas may result in a ticket and discipline within the college. These maps will help you identify the appropriate parking.
