ABOUT SUBMITTING METHODS FOR OMA REVIEW
This application access information allows method authors to submit methods to specific programs based on open active calls for methods or to the general OMA program. Please refer to the AOAC SPECTRUM for the list of current open and active calls for methods. Also, please note that application fees may apply. If you have questions on application fees or open and active calls for methods, please do not hesitate to contact the staff contact associated with each application.
IDEAL METHOD SUBMISSION PACKAGE:
The ideal method submission package will include the following:
- AOAC formatted draft method (see format guidance in Section 1 below)
- AOAC formation validation study report manuscript (see format guidance in Section 1 below)
- Raw data files (MS Excel Workbooks or Worksheets preferred)
- Method Safety Checklist (application in Section 2 below)
PREPARING YOUR METHOD DOCUMENT FOR SUBMISSION:
All submissions must include a formatted method document. This is separate from the manuscript and data information. You will be prompted for this information in the applications. All submissions must be in MS Word format (.doc or .docx). No other format will be accepted.
NEW CANDIDATE METHOD SUBMISSION: For a method being submitted for the first time, please be sure to submit a formatted method document only.
RESUBMISSION OF CANDIDATE METHOD: For a method that is being resubmitted, but not yet adopted, please submit a formatted method; however, please include tracked changes of where the text of the method has changed based on the changes per the resubmission.
MODIFICATION/EXTENSIONS OF OFFICIAL METHODS: For a method published in the Official Methods of Analysis that has been modified or extended, please submit a copy of the formatted method with tracked changes included to show how the text of the method has changed.
METHODS TO BE RECOMMENDED FOR FINAL ACTION STATUS: For a method being submitted for Final Action status review by the ERP, please submit a copy of the published method along with and tracked changes of where or how the text of the method has been changed to support addressing the Final Action requirements of the ERP/SMPR.
METHOD SUBMISSION PROCESS:
There are three (3) sections included in the submission process:
- Section 1- Guidance for Formatting Methods and Manuscripts
- Section 2- Method Safety Checklist
- Section 3- Method Submission
Please review all three sections as needed. Also, please note that once your method application (section 3) is received, it will take three (3) to five (5) business days to process. The submission information will be prepared for review by an appropriiate AOAC expert review panel (ERP).
