We need your help! We've had a lot of great STEM field trips in the past, but given COVID restrictions and the diversity of student interests, we are trying to shift gears a bit. We hope to offer more field trip options with smaller groups to make it easier to access field trip sites, cater to diverse student interests, and make the field trips even more impactful.
Sites on the UW Seattle or other campuses; working areas of zoos, aquaria, or museums; field sites; and corporate sites can all be good options. Often we can combine these field trips with other activities like college visits.
Please suggest field trip sites/activities that you think might be a good fit for our students who meet at least two of the criteria below:
- Sites that offer a behind-the-scenes look for students. They’ve all been to the public-facing parts of the zoos, and museums, but we want them to meet folks who are actually in STEM careers and maybe even find a role model.
- Sites that have cutting edge technologies that can be easily demonstrated are often a good fit.
- Companies that have a sincere interest in reaching out to underserved populations and students are often a good fit.
- It’s helpful, but not mandatory if these sites can be reached via public transport.
Please make your recommendation below. Feel free to recommend more than one site by submitting this form more than once. Thanks!
