RCDC Intergenerational Activities & Visitors
Here at the RCDC our classes have the amazing opportunity to have little outings with the “Grandmas & Grandpas” how live on our campus. We are so excited to have the privilege to have an intergenerational program and to start doing more activities and outings. We are aiming for something every week either here in our childcare space or outings in one of the 2 main buildings on our campus.
Here in our space the possibilities are endless & we are coming up with new ideas every day. Some examples include:
- Muffin, ice cream & pie social
- Lemonade stand
- Pumpkin patch
- Card making
- Story time
- Art activites
Out in one of the main building we are just beginning to explore all of the possibilities. Below are some we have already done and activities in the near future:
- Trick-Or-Treating, Holiday performance,
- “Movie day” this will alternate between the preschool and pre-k once each month.
- Arts & crafts in the art room
- Stories in the library
- Bowling
- 4-H bunny/horse presentation
- “Walk” to Disneyland with the residents.
In all of our activities with the residents our teachers and teacher to child ratio will remain what it always is here on site. With most activities we often have extra teachers helping.
