PART 1 - INITIAL REQUEST FOR APPROVING SUPPORT
Please read the below carefully, complete the form and ensure that all questions are answered. Some fields are required while others are optional and information can be provided later.
Once submitted we will consider if we can support this and if so to what level. We will try to provide you with an initial answer within 7 days or we may come back for further information.
Our funding is generally a 30-50% subsidy depending on the nature and cost of the activity. As a guide we will fund the full cost of an activity up to £10 per person and above that a min £10 plus 50% of the cost up to an overall max of £25 per person. We take into account such things as;
- Are HPLS providing transport with fuel costs
- Is food included in the costings
- Will T-shirts required to be produced for a team event
- Is any equipment needed to be purchased to participate
In some circumstances we may be able to provide transport with a 17 seater mini-bus (CAT-D Licence required) and/or an 8 seater people carrier. (subject to availability) There is a separate application required and details are HERE.
It should be noted that in most cases we ask that all team participants are subscribing members of HPLS, in order for us to authorise it as an HPLS supported event. This also ensures that public liability is covered under our policy, which is particularly important for any event where there any tangible element of personal risk to an individual or others.
What do we fund? - While a visit to the pub will usually be of benefit, this is not what this funding is for. The activity should have one or more of the elements of challenge, structure, knowledge input, competition, skills testing, exercise outside of normal regimes etc. If in doubt you may still submit a request and we will consider if it meets the criteria for funding. We do not fund operational training days.
Purely social functions can be funded by the Police Club Trust Fund. Link is HERE however, note their set committee dates for deciding on grants.
We do not consider retrospective applications. Please apply well in advance of the intended date so that we can consider the application and let you know if this meets the criteria. Normally only one team event per team is funded per year.
Post Event
Any funding will normally be paid to the team contact / organiser once the activity has been completed and we have confirmation of such and the final list of those that turned up on the day.
There are often no shows, changes in those involved and event cancellations with these things which is why this application is in two parts with payment made after we recieve final confirmation.
PART 2 CONFIRMATION OF COMPLETED ACTIVITY can be found HERE and also on the team building page on www.hpls.org which should be submitted as soon as possible after the conclusion of the event and in any case with 30 days. Older claims may be refused and we may not be able to chase these up.
