  • Program Registration

We encourage you to register for our programs to get the most out of your TLG experience.
  • Thank you for your interest in volunteering for our upcoming programs!

TLG operates on a first come, first serve basis - this means if we have hit our required volunteer numbers, you will be put on a waitlist to be called on if a place becomes available. The recruitment team will contact you within three weeks to confirm your registration. You will receive an offer via email for either a confirmed position or a waitlisted position on the program. If you have not heard back from us within three weeks, please email hello-wa@teachlearngrow.org.au

Please Note: If you are having trouble submitting this form, take a screenshot and email it to hello-wa@teachlearngrow.org.au. Please be specific in explaining the problem so we can look into it and get back to you.

Please allow 15 minutes to complete this form if you are a new volunteer, and 10 minutes if you are a returning volunteer. To save time, make sure you have the following information ready:

    • First Aid Certificate
    • SmartRider information

  • Please go to your acceptance email from TLG and copy and paste you volunteer ID into the field below

  • Lost or forgotten your Volunteer ID? Retrieve it here.

  • If you have never volunteered with us before and you have not begun the interview process, you are completing the wrong form!

Instead, please complete our application form for new volunteers. Our recruitment team will be in touch with you about an interview once the application form has been submitted.

  • This form is intended for registrations for our upcoming programs, of which only the Rural Program of Winter 2024 is available currently. If you're an active TLG volunteer, you'll be notified by email when other programs are available to register for.

  • Role Preferences

Select which roles you'd like to be considered for.
  • Please visit teachlearngrow.org.au/program-roles for a full description of all available roles.

  • Before becoming a coordinator, you will need to conduct an interview with our executive team. Keep an eye out on your emails for an interview invite.

If you are successful in this interview, you will be provided with training to get you ready to participate in the program. In the case of an unsuccessful coordinator interview, you'll still be considered for the program in a tutor role.

  • Support Officer Positions

In each school group there are a number of essential support roles available for tutors which help make the program run smoothly! Further details may be found below and if you would be like to be considered for one you may indicate so below:

Education Support Officer (ESO) - The ESO is an education student/past education student who is the main port of call for any education related questions that your fellow tutors may have on the program. Every day after school as a group you will be lesson planning for the next day and we need volunteers with educational experience to share their tips and provide assistance!

First Aid Officer (FAO) - The FAO is a volunteer with basic first aid qualifications who will assist with any medical issues which arise on the program working closely with your coordinators. You will be provided with a first aid kit and it will be your role to ensure it is with your volunteer group at all times.

Maths Support Officer (MSO) - The MSO is someone who understands higher level (high school) maths and will provide support to other tutors who may not have studied maths recently. The role includes answering any questions about maths your school group may have!

Content Officer (CO) - The CO is a volunteer within each Rural Program group who has permission to take photos of volunteers and students with media consent forms for TLG use. This role includes additional training to ensure compliance with TLG child safety policy. CO roles are open to volunteers who would like to capture high-quality photos and video content for TLG.

Note: Coordinators will only be asked if they would like to take on a support role in addition to their other duties in special circumstances.

  • Program Conditions

Should you be offered a position on the program, please be aware of the following conditions.
  • Program Deposit Charge

Your commitment to our programs is important to us and perhaps more significantly, it is important to the students we work with. Prior to accepting a place in the program, you will be asked to provide payment details for a deposit.

The deposit exists to ensure your commitment to the program, as well as to mitigate the significant financial and labour costs incurred due to unexpected volunteer withdrawals, volunteer absences, or failure to complete key volunteer tasks. These occurrences limit TLG's capacity to deliver a positive impact to students in need.

The circumstances in which your deposit would not be refunded to you include but are not limited to: late cancellation of your program attendance, failure to attend compulsory training, breaching TLG policy or procedure, or failure to return TLG property.

You would not be charged if you provide evidence of significant extenuating circumstances and let us know as soon as possible.

If financial hardship will prevent you from transferring the deposit, an alternative payment plan will be provided.

  • Policies and Procedures

Your volunteer role with TLG is governed by a range of policies and procedures, which will be provided to you throughout the training process. If at any time you are unsure of how to act in accordance with these policies and procedures, you must speak to a direct supervisor as soon as possible.

You will be required to complete a quiz to demonstrate your understanding of TLG policies and procedures prior to the commencement of the program.
