It also supports alchemical formula books. It does not cover any additional costs added by rituals, special materials, or defensive properties.

  • You have selected a Blessed Book as your base spellbook. These spellbooks do not usually contain pre-scribed spells when generated as loot, and do not require a scribe cost for writing spells into them.

    This calculator has 3 methods for determining the cost of a Blessed Book:

    • No scribe cost - Rules as written, no scribe cost will be used to determine the value of this spellbook. The calculator will still determine the number and % of pages used, and if multiple books are needed to contain all of the spells.
    • Scribe cost included - Rules as interpreted, the cost for writing spells within the spellbook are added to its value without referring to the free-writing benefits of a Blessed Book.
    • Depreciated value - House rule, the base value of the Blessed Book is proportionally reduced by the % of pre-scribed pages, and then the scribe cost of all contained spells are added after. In essence, the pages of the Blessed Book are treated like charges on a charged item, but the scribe cost continues to raise the minimum value as it would for any other spellbook.

    This calculator will presume that either the base spellbook is exceedingly long (multiplying base values by {input44:13}) or is divided into multiple volumes each using the same base spellbook ({input44:13} volumes total).
