    Last time, you created a viable prototype for a bigger project; now it's your time to think about the next step forward.

    Even if you are not continuing a project, this is important to know.

    If you're making a game, it's very important to focus on a clear, simple gameplay loop. Watch this video together if you're making a game, and use Miro to make yourself a gameplay loop.

    Make a gameplay loop for your game that is equally visually striking on the one hand, and simple and clear on the other.

    We call a large body of work here at [P1] an Epic; this is the size of your MVP. The next viable group of work is called a Saga -- this is like the "bike" from the earlier diagram. Finally, each tree is called a Chapter, and the individual cards that make up the tree are called Stories.

    Epic = MVP
    Saga = Bike
    Chapter = A group of stories
    Story = 1 card.

    Unlike traditional development, where people come up with a project idea and then build it from A to Z, we build projects in iterative steps, making sure that the user enjoys the product before moving forward.

    Each Story typically links to several Trello cards, which constitute the work necessary to create the idea in the Story. Typically, one card goes to each discipline -- art, sound, programming, etc.-- to complete the Story.

    The ideal Trello card has 3 specific things:

    One single person who's in charge of making sure that card is done.
    Something in Agile called a user story (I recommend you look that up).
    A deadline.

    When the project is submitted, you should aim to have at least 30 Trello cards completed and at least one full chapter completed as a team.

    You will be asked to share your Trello, along with the completed cards, at the end of the event.

    You need to show off where your project is at right now, in order for us to evaluate your progress.

    The best way to do that is with a video. If you choose not to use a video, please be extremely comprehensive, as playing all the different games in the early and late stages would not be practical for the judge.

    Your job is to create a convincing presentation which demonstrates how you're going to go from your early prototype into your final form.

    Moreover, you need to explain what part of that journey you will be doing within the time available in the jam.

  • 43

    You should create a presentation of at least seven slides explaining what we just mentioned.

    Press
    Enter
  • 44

    Rather than submitting it here, submit it to the whole community once we have our pitch days. There you can pitch what you're doing and how people will be part of your current Saga.

    You will be asked to pitch it during a meeting. Choose someone right now to be there and pitch.

    In order to avoid contradictory information, you should look through the Process of the Contest on the website to understand when the pitch days are.
